The saga is finally over (well partially at least): as expected, BT have confirmed they are in exclusive talks to buy EE – Britain’s largest mobile network – for the large sum of £12.5 billion. BT have confirmed their period of exclusivity would last for several weeks whilst negotiations took place and is likely to be a blow for O2’s Spanish owners Telefonica who have been trying to offload their UK operation. For a single daily charge, consumers can use their inclusive Ireland allowances whilst roaming overseas with the daily cost varying depending on the country visited.

EE is set to axe its iconic “Orange Wednesdays” 2-for-1 cinema ticket offer from 25th February next year. BT looks set to push ahead with a deal to purchase O2 after opting for the network over bigger rival EE. Aircel has partnered with Hungama to offer the Hungama-Pro for free for the first two months. This enables customers to listen music and view full length HD quality music videos for free. Hungama offers Indian, International and Regional music. Hungama has multi-lingual transliteration feature in five languages that includes, English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Punjabi, allowing users to interact with the app in their preferred language. Three UK have revealed that their superfast 4G network is now available to 48% of the UK population with 3.1 million of their customers are now using the next-generation network. Three was the last network to roll out 4G ten months ago and despite the 48% coverage, they are still behind EE (78%), O2 and Vodafone (51%).
