5 million HTC One phones sold since launch

There is a lot of negativity surrounding the Taiwanese phone maker HTC recently due to some high profile departures from the company including Chief Product Officer Kouji Kodera and Asia CEO Lennard Hoornik. But the company has managed to sell 5 million units of the its flagship HTC One smartphone since launch according to a report by the WSJ. HTC’s main Android rival Samsung just announced today that it had sold over 10 million units of the Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone in record time. The HTC One hit many markets before the Galaxy S4 but HTC is still struggling with the global roll out. India was supposed to get the phone in end of April but it is finally going on sale only this month end. HTC was also involved in some legal trouble with respect to the HDR microphone on the device. HTC Desire 600 dual sim with quad-core processor, BoomSound announced

HTC has announced Desire 600 dual sim, the company’s latest mid-range smartphone with dual SIM support. Press image of a mid-range devices surfaced recently, but this looks different from the phone. It has a 4.5-inch qHD (960 x 540 pixels) pixels super LCD2 display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 MSM8625Q processor and runs on Android Jelly Bean (Version is not available yet). It has a 8-megapixel camera on the back with LED flash, BSI sensor and a 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera with BSI sensor. It has HTC BlinkFeed home screen and HTC BoomSound with Dual frontal stereo speakers with built-in amplifiers similar to the HTC One. HTC J One announced for Japan, packs a microSD card slot

HTC has announced the HTC J One (HTL22), a variant of the HTC One for Japan’s KDDI network. The global variant of the HTC One that was announced earlier this year doesn’t come with a microSD card slot but the HTC JOne for Japan has a microSD card slot, in addition to the 32GB internal memory. Other features are similar to the HTC One including a 4.7 inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD Super LCD3 display at 468ppi, 1.7 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processo, Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) with the new HTC Sense UI and HTC BlinkFeed, 4-megapixel UltraPixel camera with LED Flash, BSI Sensor, Optical Image Stabilization ,F2.0 aperture and 28 mm lens Full HD (1080p) video recording with HDR Video and a 2.1MP HD front-facing camera with 88 wide angle lens with HDR.

HTC One goes on sale in India finally for Rs. 42900

HTC launched the HTC One, the company’s flagship Android smartphone in India last month. It was supposed to go on sale in India at the end of April, but it was delayed due to unknown reasons. The phone is finally available in India from online retailer Saholic. The HTC One comes with a 4.7 inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display, powered by a 1.7 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) with the new HTC Sense UI and HTC BlinkFeed. Nokia Lumia 925 vs HTC One Quick Comparison

The Nokia Lumia 925 launched the day before yesterday, invoking various reactions from the internet, including ours, which is detailed in the hands on post here. This new Lumia device with a metal frame loses a lot of weight and has slimmed down, mainly for people who were holding out on the 920 because of its bulkiness. We had explained the differences between it and the 920 here, which would make sense of this device’s release. Controversial HDR microphone removed from HTC One’s spec sheet

We’d previously reported on Nokia having tried to get a ban on HTC One sales in the Netherlands due to the use of their proprietary HAAC microphone technology. The high amplitude microphone allows the user to get a clear recording without any clipping in case of extremely loud audio.The blame has been placed on ST Microelectronics who did not have the permission to license out the microphones till February of 2014. HTC has however removed the dual membrane microphone from its spec sheets and is working on their own technology to integrate it into the One.

The company maintains that all current devices are equipped with the mic and this will not affect sales. In addition, HTC will continue to integrate STM microphones in the One until it exhausts the supplies in its warehouse. HTC M4 press image surfaces, has the HTC One design and UltraPixel camera

The HTC M4 first leaked out back in February earlier this year. Thanks to evleaks, press image of the HTC M4 has surfaced that reveals that the phone would have a similar unibody design like the HTC One that was announced back in February. The phone would come with a 4.3-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display and a dual-core Snapdragon CPU as the earlier rumor suggested. It is also expected to come with a UltraPixel rear camera with LED Flash similar to the HTC One and Beats audio support support, but it would pack a 1700 mAh battery. HTC One Review

Once considered a leader amongst smartphone manufacturers, HTC has fallen from grace due to increasing competition and in some ways failure to keep up. With ever declining sales, the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer is in a dire scenario that calls for desperate measures.

The One is it’s offering to the world and is meant to show that the company can still create a compelling product. CEO Peter Chou is confident enough to proclaim that he will resign if the handset doesn’t do well in the market. HTC Desire L with 4.3-inch display, 1 GHz dual-core processor announced

HTC has announced the Desire L, a new Android smartphone in Taiwan. It has a 4.3-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen Super LCD2 display and is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor similar to the Desire P that was unveiled earlier this month. No details about the Android version. It has a 5MP auto focus camera on the back with LED Flash, BSI sensor for better low-light imaging and comes with Beats audio support. HTC One Benchmarks

HTC launched the HTC One, the company’s latest flagship Android smartphone in India earlier this week. We brought you the unboxing of the device last month. Here we have the benchmarks of the device. The HTC One has a 4.7 inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display, powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor clocked at 1.7 GHz with Adreno 320 GPU and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It out performs all the current quad-core smartphones in all the benchmarks.

HTC One X and One X+ get a price cut, now available for Rs. 25999 and Rs. 28999

HTC has cut the price of the One X and the One X+ in India, which are now available for Rs. 25999 and Rs. 28999 respectively. This is a huge price drop for both these smartphones since the launch, and this might due to the launch of the HTC One, the company’s latest flagship. The HTC One X was launched in India at Rs. 37,899 (MOP) last April and the HTC One X+ was launched last November for Rs 40,190. No details about the price cut for the HTC Butterfly, that was launched in India earlier this year at a price tag of Rs. 45,990. HTC posts record profit losses in Q1,delayed smartphone shipments to blame

The troubled smartphone manufacturer, HTC, has posted yet another quarter of record profit losses to the tune of 98% year on year. HTC reported its lowest profits with just $2.8 million USD net income for Q1 2013. This the lowest that has ever been reported by the Taiwanese manufacturer in its 16 year history.
