Google Wallet has updated its mobile apps for Android and iOS with several features. For starters, users can now manage gift cards and redeem them. They can can store their gift cards within the app simply by taking a photo of the barcode or typing the info in. The app already did the same thing for loyalty cards.

It has been a long time since Google launched Google Wallet, but we haven’t seen any major updates to lately. Google has started selling the Galaxy Nexus on Google Play from this week just for $399.99, six week after its debut. This new device comes with Google wallet and a $10 credit by default. Another interesting factor is that the system image on this Galaxy Nexus is not the usual “Yakju” build, instead it’s the “Takju” image which has been used.

Google has launched their Google Wallet on the Sprint’s Nexus 4G in USA. This would let the Sprint Nexus 4G users make purchases with a simple tap using NFC (Near Field Communication) on their phone. The Google Wallet app would be available through an over-the-air update for Sprint’s Nexus 4G devices. Google announced the Google Wallet in May, and they have been testing it since then.
