Android 4.0 was a major upgrade from all the Android versions and all the users are looking forward to take a bite at it, the only problem is that the manufacturers are taking too long to cook Android 4.0 for these devices. But HTC is finally showing signs of upgrading some of the devices pretty soon, just like Sony Ericsson provided a peek of Android 4.0 for some of it’s device a few months back HTC will be providing the Android 4.0 update as a preview for all the Sensation and Sesation XE users in the Europe.
So HTC has planned this so that while everyone is waiting for the final dish to arrive, there will be something to play with and satisfy the customers, though it will not be completely baked. But there is a sad part too, you will not be able to directly download and apply this update, it will be first used by the people in the elevate beta program and the T-Mobile subscribers excluding the Sensation 4G. Well there is no need for all the people outside Europe to be angry, because as soon as this update goes live it will be available for all you guys to flash. So this is a good sign from HTC to fulfilling their customers needs, after all the customers should be treated as Gods. 🙂

There are number of beautiful Android handsets available in the market but not all of them are attractive enough to catch your eye. I personally believe that Xperia Arc is probably the most beautiful smartphone yet, but it seems that I might need to reconsider that. Acer is planning to launch the Acer CloudMobile at the Mobile World Congress, which is an amazing phone with jaw-dropping design, as you can see the image above, it will make you fall in love with the design. Almost 4 years ago, LTE (Long Term Evolution) was launched and right now it’s available in several parts of the world, and it’s available in USA via Verizon and AT&T. Now LTE is finally arrived in Europe as Vodafone Germany commercially launched it in Düsseldorf, Germany – Along with Europe’s first ever device known as HTC Velocity 4G (HTC Vivid 4G), and it will be available earlier next month. LTE will be available in all over Germany by late 2012, covering 90% of the country, and they hope to reach 16 million households.

Semiconductor manufacturer MediaTek announced its 3rd generation platform for low – mid range Android devices. The MT6575 platform offers a 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor, a proven 3G/HSPA modem and runs the latest Android v4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich).
The chipset which will find its way in mid range handsets can decode 720p video streams. Upto 8MP cameras are supported and screen with qHD resolution. In industry-standard benchmark testing, the MT6575 offered over 35% improvement for browser applications and over 20% improvement in graphics capabilities for gaming when compared to other chipsets in the segment offered by competitors.
GSMArena has got hold of a promotional image of an upcoming Samsung handset. The Galaxy Mini 2 or the S6500 is expected to be unveiled at the upcoming Mobile World Congress. The phone is going to be another lower end Android phone and will slot in between the Galaxy Y , Galaxy Ace.
Just when the fire sale of the HP Touchpad was taking place, some customers had reported that they received Touchpads with Android running out of the box, and now HP has released the kernel source of Android for the Touchpad to the CyanogenMod team.
Swype , the extremely popular keyboard replacement for Android amongst other operating systems is getting a major update soon. The application which currently doesn’t support the latest version of Android ie ICS will include support for the OS in the latest update.
Lenovo introduced one of the most well built and feature packed Android tablets last year based on the Honeycomb operating system. Since then Google has rolled out Android 4.0 ie Ice Cream Sandwich which brings several tablet specific enhancements like native support for stylus input which already comes with the Thinkpad tablet.

A month ago, USA’s largest mobile phone network Verizon Wireless introduced the Motorola Droid 4; their successor to the famous Droid Series. The device was launched with 4G LTE support and it comes with an attractive design. At the announcement, Motorola or Verizon didn’t tell us about the price or launch, but now there’s a lot of leaked information about it. Words are on the street that Verizon will launch the anticipate device on 1oth of February, it will cost $199.99 with 2-year contract, and for $549 without any, thanks to the leaked Verizon Equipment Guide leaked shot. The Sensation was HTC’s best device last year, featuring the first asynchronous dual core processor on a smartphone. Though the device was good and had a great build quality it did not sell well against the Samsung Galaxy S 2. But this does not stop them from bringing out a white version of this new device and the best part of it is that it will come with Android 4.0 out of the box.
