
Samsung may have surpassed the sales of the Apple and Nokia smartphones in the second quarter of 2011 reports Bloomberg. Samsung is estimated to have sold between 18 million and 21 million smartphones globally in the April-June quarter, while Nokia sold 16.7 million and Apple sold 20.3 million iPhones. Viber is a popular VoIP and free messaging service on the iOS platform. In fact it has been downloaded over 12 million times on Apple’s app store. The Android version recently graduated from beta and is now available to the Android Market.

The First OTA update is here for Apple iOS devices. Updating Apple iOS devices were annoying when you are forced to download 600mb+ update file for a single bug fix. Motorola Atrix 4G Gets The Android Gingerbread Update
Motorola has finally rolled out the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) update for the Atrix 4G smartphone. It bring some new features such as enhancements to the Picture Gallery and Music Player, updated UI, Full HD Video Playback and more.

The GSM Association which is the organization behind the annual Mobile World Congress event has just announced that the event will stay in Barcelona till 2018. Mobile World Congress or MWC is our annual mobile pilgrimage where we get to play with the latest mobile phones (add tablets) .Looks like Barcelona also got the most votes in our poll when the GSMA was thinking of moving the event to another city. We would love to see the event move to another city like Milan, Munich and Paris but looks like it’s not moving anywhere atleast for then next 6 years. Visca el Barça !
