LG has announced that they would launch LTE TDD capable smartphones globally starting from Saudi Arabia with its flagship Optimus G smartphone on the Saudi Telecom Company (STC) network. LG has also confirmed that they would release LTE TDD-enabled smartphones in other countries China, India, North America, Japan and Australia later this year. LG LTE smartphone sales surpass 5 million units globally
LG Electronics has announced that they have sold more than 5 million LTE smartphones globally. The global shipments of Optimus LTE crossed the 1 million mark earlier this January. With the launch of new phones new smartphones such as Optimus Vu, Optimus Tag, and Optimus LTE 2 that sold more than half a million units in the first 7 days. LG crossed the 3 million mark in May and 4 million mark last month.LG has also announced that the Optimus Vu has sold more than 500,000 units since March. LG LTE smartphone sales surpass 3 million globally
LG has announced that they have sold more than 3 million LTE smartphones globally. The Optimus LTE global shipments crossed the 1 million mark earlier this January. LG demos LTE Voice-Video call switching at MWC
LG has demonstrated world’s first voice-to-video call handover over a LTE network at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2012. This is based on LG’s proprietary technology that enables users to switch back and forth between high quality voice and high resolution video call modes during an ongoing telephone conversation. LG Spectrum with LTE and True HD display coming to Verzion on January 19 for $199.99
LG has announced Spectrum, a new Android phone with LTE support for Verzion. It comes with 4.5-inch True HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS 500-nit display with 329 PPI and Real-Stripe RGB pixels offer users clear viewing in direct sunlight and accurate true-to-life color rendering and is also scratch-resistant since it has Gorilla Glass. It is powered by 1.5 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread (updgradable to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich).
