Google slashes price of Project Tango Tablet to US$512 – Now available without invitation

Google had initially sold the Project Tango Tablet Development Kit for US$ 1024 to people who received the invite back in April. But now they have slashed the price in half as it now costs just US$ 512 and is available without an invitation.

Nokia Lumia 610 UK release date announced

Nokia has confirmed the release date and network pricing of their new budget Lumia 610 in the UK. At a press event in London Trafalgar Hotel yesterday, the beleaguered Finnish mobile company annonced that the Windows Phone-powered phone will go on sale in the first week of June. Nokia Lumia 610 now in stock at UK retailers

The low-cost Windows Phone from Nokia the Lumia 610 which was announced at MWC 2012 is now in-stock at select retailers in the UK and priced very competitively. The affordable Windows Phone is available from 145.99 GBP excluding VAT ( Rs.12620 approx / 230 USD ) only in Black colour at the moment and the Cyan version is expected to be in stock in a few days. Windows Phone Tango to up multitasking limit to 8 apps

Microsoft has been trying to put across the point that the Tango update will be fairly minor and aims to bring down the requirement levels to be able to launch lower end hardware without compromising the experience. What it hasn’t told anyone is that due to the reduced hardware requirements , current hardware will be able to perform better. Keeping this in mind , Microsoft has increased the limit for apps allowed to multitask to 8.

Nokia Maps for WP7 revealed in screenshots

The wapxap.com team have uncovered the placeholder listing for Nokia Maps on Windows Phone devices. The market place listing shows four screenshots for the new mapping solution being developed by Nokia.

The description reads as :

Nokia Maps helps you to be a local anywhere you go. See where you are and discover places nearby in a snap. Get reviews, uncover new destinations and reach them with smart routing for public transport, walking and driving.

Nokia’s mapping service is known to offer best in class offline turn-by-turn navigation for free. This is expected to be one of the key differentiators of Nokia’s Windows Phone devices from those made by other OEMs.
