Microsoft details Windows Phone Tango update

Microsoft today detailed its upcoming Tango release for its Windows Phone platform. The update which is more of a maintenance update basically adds support for a lower end chipset and more languages.

With the Tango update , handsets with as low as 256MB of RAM will be able to run the OS. Trade offs will include incompatibility with a small percentage of apps and the lower end handsets will also lose the ability to multitask.  The new Windows Phone SDK should be available next month and so we should expect the lower end Windows Phone handsets to start hitting the market soon after.
