Alcatel 7 with 6-inch FHD+ display, dual rear cameras, 4000mAh battery announced

Alcatel today announced 7, the company’s latest mid-range smartphone. It packs a 6-inch FHD+ display, is powered by an Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P23 SoC with 2GB of RAM, runs Android 8.1 (Oreo), has a 12-megapixel rear camera along with a 2-megapixel secondary rear camera to capture depth information for portrait shots, and a 8-megapixel camera on the front. It has a fingerprint sensor on the back and packs a 4000mAh battery.

Tecno Camon iAce and Camon iSky 2 with 5.5-inch 18:9 display, face unlock, Android 8.1 launched starting at Rs. 6799

After Camon i Twin last month, Tecno has launched the two new smartphones – Camon iAce and Camon iSky 2 in India. These have a 6-inch HD+ 18:9 FullView displays, powered by quad-core MediaTek SoCs  with 2GB of RAM and run Android 8.1 (Oreo) with the company’s own HiOS on top.  These have a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash, but the Camon iSky 2 also comes with a secondary VGA camera for portrait shots. The  Camon iAce has an 8-megapixel camera on the front, while the  Camon iSky 2 features a 13-megapixel camera, and both have dual LED flash.

Indian smartphone shipments reach 33.5 million in Q2 2018, Xiaomi retains top position with 29.7% market share: IDC

According to the IDC India’s Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker, smartphone companies shipped a total of 33.5 million units to India in the Q2 2018. This resulted in a growth of 20% year-over-year (YoY). Xiaomi introduces Mi RGB Backlit Gaming Mechanical Keyboard and Water-resistant Mi Sports Bluetooth Headset Youth Edition

Xiaomi last week introduced new Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with customizable RGB lights for all the 104 keys and Mi Sports Bluetooth Headset Youth Edition. It has TTC Red switches with a 3-mm travel distance. It uses Sonix microcontroller with a 32-bit Cortex-M0 core and USB interface supporting a 1000 Hz polling rate.

BlackBerry KEY2 LE with 4.5-inch FHD+ 3:2 display, QWERTY keyboard, Snapdragon 636, dual rear cameras surface

BlackBerry KEY2 LE passed through the FCC last month, now a new image and specifications of the smartphone has surfaced online that reveals that it will feature a similar 4.5-inch (1620 x 1080 pixels) display with 3:2 aspect ratio, 4-row QWERTY physical backlit keyboard, fingerprint sensor built into the spacebar (sans keyboard trackpad functionality like the Key One and the KEY2) and Android 8.1 (Oreo), but this will be powered by Snapdragon 636 with 4GB of RAM, different cameras and a 3,000mAh battery.
