Indian PC market declines 30.1% YoY in Q1 2023: IDC

Indian smartphone shipments declined 10% YoY in Q3 2022: IDC

IDC has released the Indian smartphone market sales report for the third quarter of 2022. According to the report, the market fell 10% year-on-year (YoY), with 43 million units shipped in Q3 2022, the lowest third-quarter shipment since 2019. Worldwide smartphone shipments expected to further decline by 3% in 2018, will return to growth in 2019: IDC

According to IDC, worldwide smartphone shipments are expected to decline by 3% in 2018 before returning to low single-digit growth in 2019 and through 2022. Despite the on-going US-China trade war, IDC says that it believes that continued developments from emerging markets, combined with potential around 5G and new product form factors, will bring the smartphone market back to positive growth. Global VR headset shipments decline 33.7%, standalone VR headsets grew 417.7% YoY in Q2 2018: IDC

As per the recent report from IDC, the shipments of virtual reality (VR) headsets were down 33.7% year over year in the second quarter of 2018. Worldwide tablet shipments declined 13.5% in Q2 2018, Apple and Samsung continue to lead: IDC

According to IDC, worldwide tablet market declined 13.5% in Q2 2018 as global shipments fell to 33 million. Slate tablets accounted for the majority of the market with 28.4 million units, which is down 14.5% from the previous year. On the other hand, the detachable tablets also declined during the quarter largely due to the high-profile product launches in the Q2 of 2017 and the absence of timely updates to those products in 2Q18. Huawei surpasses Apple to become second biggest smartphone vendor worldwide with 54.2 million shipments in Q2 2018: IDC

According to the research data from the International Data Corporation (IDC), smartphone vendors shipped a total of 342.0 million units in the Q2 2018, resulting in a 1.8% decline when compared to the 348.2 million units shipped in the second quarter of 2017.
