Redmi Note 4 starts receiving MIUI 11 Global Stable update

Xiaomi announced the latest iteration of its own proprietary Android skin MIUI, dubbed MIUI 11 along with the Redmi Note 8 series at an event in India. MIUI 11 aims to bring a brand new optimized modern UI design focused on content viewing and has along with nifty additions designed specifically for India. The company has already completed MIUI 11 rollout for the first phase of devices and has already started testing MIUI Stable Beta for the second and third batch of devices.

Now, the company has started rolling out MIUI 11 Global Stable update to Redmi Note 4 users in India. The new update comes as MIUI 11.0.2.0.NCFMIXM and weighs around 458 MBs in size. Xiaomi has not updated the Android Security patch on the device and it still runs on almost a year old December 2018 patch. MIUI 11 brings new features such as New Minimalistic Design, Blur App Previews, Quick Replies, New Dynamic Sound Effects, Floating Calculator, Updated Mi File Manager, and more to the device, but we found the new file-sharing tech Mi Share missing on our unit.

If you haven’t received the update on your device, you can download the Recovery ROM here and try flashing it using the recovery method but it may not work as it might be staged rollout. MIUI 11 is being rolled out to all eligible devices as per the schedule, you can keep a track of MIUI 11 updates with our dedicated MIUI section. Google release a fun new AI experiment called FreddieMeter

In the past, Googles AI experiments online have always been interesting, fun activities for users to try out, combining AI with things like drawing or singing. Now YouTube, Google Creative Lab, and Google Research, working in partnership with Queen, Universal Music Group and Hollywood Records, have built a new AI experiment called FreddieMeter that will show users how close are they to singing like Freddie Mercury.

Xiaomi India donates over 1,10,000 recycled notebooks to kids, creates two Guinness World Records

Xiaomi has announced that they donated over 1.1 lakh notebooks for underprivileged kids on the occasion of Children’s Day. The notebooks, weighing over 18,000 kg cumulatively, were made from recycled paper and were first used to make the world’s largest notebook mosaic. Motorola just announced razr, the company’s latest foldable smartphone, as it had promised. It is still a flip phone, similar to the old range but this has a large  6.2-inch flexible OLED 21:9 CinemaVision screen that closes completely in half, thanks to hinge mechanism that allows the phone to close with both sides perfectly flush. “This engineering breakthrough protects the display and creates an even thinner, more compact design,” says the company. Airtel begins building partnerships for 5G use cases; in talks with other companies for private LTE networks

At India Mobile Congress (IMC) last year and this year, Airtel showcased 5G use cases, futuristic digital technologies, and more. While some countries have started deploying commercial 5G networks, Indian telecom operators are yet to get the spectrum allocated. But in the meantime, Airtel has now said that they have started building partnerships and alliances for right 5G use cases and is also in talks for private LTE networks.
