Sony to open a new Global R&D centre in India in 2020


Sony Corporation has announced today that they will establish their first global R&D centre in Bangalore, India with plans to open more centres in other cities. Sony wants to improve its competitive edge in the Indian market and strengthen its research and development capabilities in India.

The research centre will open in Bangalore in 2020 to fulfil Sony’s purpose to “Fill the world with emotion, through the power of creativity and technology.”

Sony will also promote open innovation with local universities through research sponsorships as well as collaborative partnerships with faculty and researchers in India, in order to establish lasting initiatives for motivating and fostering research talent. Employee will also get a chance to experience worldwide Sony Research sites as their careers advance.
