LG expects 82.4% increase in operating profit YoY in Q1 2017
LG Electronics today announced its preliminary earnings results for the first quarter of 2017, which will be announced later this year. The company expects to make 14.7 trillion Korean won and operating profit of 921.5 billion korean won. It expects revenues to be 9.7% higher and operating profit 82.4% higher than the same period last year, ts second-best in quarterly profits ever. Apple’s 9.7-inch iPad 2017 now available for pre-order on Flipkart starting at Rs. 28900
Apple announced new 9.7-inch iPad last month to replace the iPad Air 2 that was introduced in 2014. It is now available for pre-order from Flipkart in India. It has the same 9.7-inch Retina display, but this is powered by A9 chip and M9 motion coprocessor. It Touch ID fingerprint sensor and is just 7.5 mm thick. It also has a 8-megapixel camera and a 1.2-megapixel FaceTime HD front camera.
Samsung Galaxy C7 Pro with 5.7-inch 1080p display, 16MP front and rear cameras launched in India for Rs. 27990
Samsung today launched Galaxy C7 Pro (SM-C7010), successor of the Galaxy C7 in the Galaxy ‘C Series’ in India. It was announced in China earlier this year, and packs a a 5.7-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 626 14nm SoC, runs on Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) with Samsung’s own UI on top, has a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/1.9 aperture, dual-tone LED flash and a 16-megapixel front-facing camera.
Nokia 6 Unboxing and First Impressions
HMD Global announced Nokia 6 smartphone earlier this year in China as the first Nokia smartphone after it was granted exclusive global license to sell Nokia phones. At the MWC 2017 Nokia confirmed that the smartphone will be available globally starting in Q2 2017. We even went hands-on with the smartphone at the MWC. Samsung Galaxy S8+ with 6GB RAM, 128GB storage announced, price revealed
Samsung announced its flagship Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphone at an event in New York last week. Even though the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version of these smartphones were certified in China ahead of the announcement, it was not revealed by Samsung at the time of announcement. Huawei’s Honor brand, along with the Honor 8 Pro in the UK and Europe earlier this week introduced Honor 6C, which is the global version of the Huawei Enjoy 6S that was introduced last year. It packs a 5-inch HD 2.5D curved glass display, is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 435 SoC, runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with EMUI 4.1, has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Reliance Jio just announced that it will withdraw its Jio Summer Surprise offer that offers 3-month complimentary benefits of Jio services and free data on recharge of Rs. 303 or more, as advised by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). The offer was announced Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries last week. Sansui has launched Horizon 1, a budget budget 4G smartphone with VoLTE support. It has a 4.5-inch FWVGA display, is powered by a quad-core Spreadtrum processor, runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow), has a 5-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and a 3.2-megapixel front-facing camera that also has LED flash for capturing better selfies even in low lighting conditions.

Nubia introduces compact NeoAir VR 360-degree camera that can be connected to phones
Along with the Nubia Z17 mini, Nubia also introduced NeoAir VR, its first 360-degree camera that can record 360-degree panoramic videos and also capture 360-degree photos. It has two 210-degree fish-eye lens on either sides and can be connect to a phone through USB Type-C port to preview the photos or videos captured through the app. It has plug and play interface so it carries out functions using USB Type-C and doesn’t use Bluetooth or WiFi Direct. Nubia Z17 mini with 5.2-inch 1080p display, dual 13MP rear cameras, 6GB RAM announced
ZTE’s nubia brand just announced Nubia Z17 mini, its latest smartphone in the ‘Z Series’ at an event in China, as it had promised. The main highlight of the smartphone is its dual 13-megapixel rear cameras, one with monochrome lens and the other one with RGB lens, offering crisp shots. It has ultra fast focus in 0.1 seconds and supports aperture adjustment from f/1.0 to f/16.0. It also has a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with 80-degree wide-angle lens.
