ACT Fibernet launched its ACT Stream TV 4K Android Streaming device back in April, and said that it will launch commercially after May. Today the company has started offering the device across four cities, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Delhi and Chennai for the ACT Fibernet users with plans over Rs. 999 for Delhi and Hyderbad, over Rs. 1099 for Chennai and plans over Rs. 1159 for Bengaluru.
Back in June, Realme CEO Madhav Sheth has confirmed that the company will be introducing world’s first smartphone camera with 64MP GW1 largest 1/1.72″ sensor and 1.6µm pixel. In addition, he also said that the phone will be launched in India first. Today the company has confirmed a separate ‘Camera Innovation Event’ in Delhi on August 8th to reveal world’s first 64MP Quad Camera on a smartphone.
Xiaomi’s Redmi brand launched the Redmi K20 smartphone in India last week month starting at Rs. 21,999. The phone packs a 48-megapixel primary rear camera with single LED Flash, f/1.75 aperture, 1/2.0″ Sony IMX582 sensor, 0.8μm pixel size, 6P lens has support for PDAF, EIS along with a secondary 13-megapixel 124.8° ultra-wide sensor with 1.12μm pixel size, f/2.4 aperture and an 8MP 1/4″ telephoto lens with 1.12μm pixel size, f/2.4 aperture for 2x loss-less zoom.

Huawei has launched Y9 Prime 2019 smartphone in India, as it had promised. It packs a 6.59-inch Full HD+ display with 91% screen-to-body ratio, is powered by an octa-core Kirin 710 12nm SoC with 4GB RAM and GPU Turbo 3.0, has a 16-megapixel primary camera with AI features, 8-megapixel triple rear camera and a 2-megapixel camera for portrait shots. There is a 16-megapixel pop-up camera on the front. It comes with 3D portrait feature. Both the front and rear camera of the device can retouch your portrait with studio-quality lighting effects.
Update: August 1, 2019 — Ather today confirmed that the Ather 450 will cost Rs. 1,22,224 on road in Chennai after GST revision from 12% to 5% on electric vehicles that comes in effect from today. In Bengaluru it will cost Rs. 1,13,715.

HUAWEI’s HONOR brand today announced that it has started rolling out EMIUI 9.1 update in India, after rolling it out HUAWEI P20 Lite last month. This brings new features including better UI Design, Gesture Based Navigation, GPU Turbo 3.0, all-new EROFS (Extendable Read-Only File System) and Advanced Battery management among other features. Samsung has announced the Galaxy Tab S6, successor of last year’s Galaxy Tab S4, as it had promised. It has a 10.5-inch Super AMOLED WQXGA screen, is powered by a Octa-Core Snapdragon 855 SoC and runs on Android 9.0 (Pie). It has quad-stereo speakers tuned by AKG by HARMAN, similar to the predecessor and has got rid of the Iris scanner in favor of in-display fingerprint scanner. The Galaxy Tab S6 has an 8-megapixel primary camera along with a 5-megapixel 123-degree Ultra Wide camera and an 8-megapixel front camera. It has a 5.7mm slim metal body.
Vivo just announced Z5, the company’s latest mid-range smartphone at an event in China as it had promised. It has a 6.38-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with 90% screen-to-body ratio, is powered by Snapdragon 712 with up to 8GB of RAM, runs Android 9.0 (Pie) with Funtouch OS 9.1, features a 48-megapixel rear camera along with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor and a 2-megapixel camera for portrait shots. There is a 32-megapixel camera on the front.

Samsung has reported its earnings for Q2 2019 that ended June 30 2019, in which the company has made operating profit of 6.60 trillion won, down 55.6% YoY, as expected. This due to weakness and price declines in the memory chip market and inventory adjustments by major datacenter customers, similar to previous quarters, despite a limited recovery in demand, said Samsung. It reported revenue of 56.13 trillion won, down 4% YoY from 58.48 trillion won last year. Apple has reported quarterly revenue of $53.8 billion, up 0.93% over last year with a net profit of $10 billion, down 13% YoY and earnings per diluted share of $2.18, down 7% for the financial year Q3 2019 that ended June 29, 2019. During earnings call Tim Cook said that the company saw significant improvement in year-over-year iPhone performance compared to last quarter, very strong performances for both Mac and iPad and absolutely blowout quarter for Wearables. Last week ZTE’s nubia brand confirmed that it will introduce its flagship Z20 smartphone in China on August 8th. Today a phone with the model number NX627J has been certified by TENAA in China, which should be Z20. It shows dual displays, similar to the nubia X that was introduced last year, but this will feature a slight larger 6.42-inch FHD+ OLED screen on the front and the 5.1-inch secondary OLED display on the back will have FHD+ resolution, compared to HD+ screen on the nubia X.
We already know that Samsung will introduce its Galaxy Note10 series on August 7th at its Unpacked event. Now the company has announced that it will introduce the Galaxy Tab S6 later today, July 31st and the Galaxy Watch Active 2 next Monday, August 5th at special pre-events.
