Apple Arcade is adding Madden NFL 27 Arcade Edition, bringing the NFL football game to Apple devices. Developed by EA SPORTS, the title is designed specifically for Apple Arcade and features current NFL teams, a season-based experience, realistic simulation gameplay, and Madden’s Franchise and Quick Play modes.
Madden NFL 27 Arcade Edition features
Madden NFL 27 Arcade Edition includes Franchise mode, where players manage teams, make roster decisions, and guide their team through a season. The mode features a weekly story engine that introduces season-based narratives, fan reactions, and team management scenarios.

Apple Arcade adds NFL Retro Bowl games
Apple Arcade is also adding NFL Retro Bowl ’27 and Retro Bowl College+. Retro Bowl College+ allows players to take on the role of a head coach and manage one of 250 college football teams.
NFL Retro Bowl ’27 introduces a new Gauntlet Mode. The mode starts players with limited resources and challenges them to complete a 15-game win streak while competing for the highest scores on leaderboards.
Gauntlet Mode includes:
- Choice between safer matchups or higher-risk opponents
- Rewards including NFL stars and gameplay perks
- Player XP and abilities carrying over after a loss
- A final winner-takes-all showdown against a division rival

Madden NFL 27 Arcade Edition will be available on Apple Arcade from August 6. Retro Bowl College+ will also arrive on August 6, while NFL Retro Bowl ’27 will launch on September 3.
