After several beta updates, Google has finally started rolling out Android 10 stable update for Pixel smartphones. Essential has also started rolling out the update for the Essential Phone. Those who have signed up for beta program have started getting OTA updates. Google is also pushing sources to Android Open Source Project (AOSP).

USB4 Specification confirmed — Based on Thunderbolt, offers 40 Gbps speed

USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) has published USB4 specification, a major update to USB 3.2, after it was announced. The USB4 architecture is based on the Thunderbolt protocol specification recently contributed by Intel Corporation to the USB Promoter Group. The group also has Apple Inc., Hewlett-Packard Inc., Microsoft Corporation, Renesas Corporation, STMicroelectronics, and Texas Instruments, in addition to Intel. USB4 doubles the maximum aggregate bandwidth of USB and enables multiple simultaneous data and display protocols.

Vivo NEX 3 5G with 6.89-inch FHD+ AMOLED waterfall screen, Snapdragon 855 Plus, 12GB RAM, 64MP triple rear cameras to be announced on September 16

After teasers, Vivo has announced that it will introduce Vivo NEX 3 5G, the company’s next-generation NEX series smartphone with 5G support and new waterfall display on September 16th in Shanghai, China. Vivo general manager already posted a teaser showing off the phone’s ‘waterfall screen’ which is curved on all the sides offering 99.6% screen-to-body ratio, The phone as been certified by TENAA with the model number V1924T revealing the specifications, including Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC combined with Qualcomm’s X50 modem for 5G connectivity and up to 12GB RAM.

OPPO Reno 10x zoom 5G with 6.6-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, Snapdragon 855 Plus, 12GB RAM gets certified

OPPO introduced the Reno 10x lossless zoom in China back in April, and it introduced a cheaper Reno 2 last week in India and China. Now the company is gearing up to introduce the 5G version of the Reno 10x lossless zoom edition in China, as it has been certified by TENAA in with the model number PCKM70. Brian Shen, OPPO VP confirmed that it will not be called the Reno 2 5G.

Geekbench 5 cross-platform benchmark with support for Vulkan graphics, new Compute workloads released

Primate Labs has released Geekbench 5, the next major version of powerful cross-platform benchmark tool, after 3 years of the release of Geekbench 4. It brings support for Vulkan graphics, adds new Compute workloads and Dark Mode on macOS. Geekbench 5 is 64-bit only, dropping support for 32-bit processors and operating systems.

Samsung just announced the Galaxy A90 5G (SM-A905G), the company’s first 5G phone ‘A series’, after several rumors. It packs a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Infinity-U Super AMOLED display, is powered by Snapdragon 855 combined with Qualcomm’s X50 modem for 5G connectivity and up to 8GB of RAM, runs Android Pie with Samsung One UI, packs a 48-megapixel primary rear camera along with an 8-megapixel 123° ultra-wide-angle lens and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. The camera features AI capabilities such as Super Steady, Scene Optimizer and Flaw Detector, and is also a 32-megapixel front camera with Live Focus Mode.

OPPO A9 (2020) / A11x with 6.5-inch display, 8GB RAM, 48MP quad rear cameras, 5000mAh battery coming soon

OPPO has started teasing the launch of A9 (2020) in Vietnam, and the phone has also been certified by TENAA in China with the model number PCHM30 revealing the complete specifications, and could be introduced in the home ground as A11x. The phone will pack a 5000mAh battery, 8GB RAM and 128GB storage along with a quad camera arrangement with a 48-megapixel primary camera, similar to the realme 5 Pro.

Samsung has finally announced that it will launch the Galaxy M30s, successor of the Galaxy M30 in India on September 18th on Amazon.in. The company has confirmed that it will huge 6000mAh battery, compared to the 5000mAh battery in the predecessor, hints at a 48-megapixel primary camera with triple camera arrangement, Super AMOLED display and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. It has a gradient back that shows both blue and green colors.

After rumors, Airtel today launched converged entertainment platform Airtel Xstream that brings together Live TV, video, music, news, and sports across Xstream Sticksmart stick, internet-enabled Xstream 4K Hybrid Box and handheld devices. Airtel launched Internet TV, an Hybrid DTH and 4K Android TV box back in 2017. The company rolled out Airtel XStream couple of months back that enables Airtel customers watch Live TV, movies and shows.

HUAWEI Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro to be announced on September 19 in Germany

HUAWEI just confirmed that it will introduce its flagship Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro smartphones at an event in Munich, Germany on September 19th. To remind you, the HUAWEI Mate 10 series was introduced in Munich back in 2017, but last year’s Mate 20 was announced at an event in London. The invite also hints at circular camera module as rumored earlier, and the invite confirms Leica partnership once again.

Realme smartphone with 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, Snapdragon 730G, 64MP Quad rear cameras, 30W fast charging surfaces

Realme XT, the company’s first 64MP quad camera phone will go on sale later in India this month, now details about another realme smartphone has surfaced in China. We still don’t have the name of the phone yet, but the specifications of the phone that have surfaced reveals a similar 6.4-inch Samsung AMOLED water drop screen, 64MP quad rear cameras and a 4000mAh, but this is said to be powered by Snapdragon 730G, 32-megapixel front camera, next-generation in-display fingerprint scanner and a faster 30W VOOC fast charging, compared to 20W VOOC 3.0 charging in its current phones.

Xiaomi Mi TV 4A Pro and Mi TV 4C Pro Android 9.0 (Pie) roll out in September, coming to older Mi TV 4A series soon

Xiaomi launched Mi TV 4C Pro 32-inch HD ready TV running Patchwall based on Android 8.1 (Oreo) last year, making the company one of the first to ship Android 8.1 (Oreo) out of the box. The company launched the Mi LED TV 4A PRO earlier this year with the same OS version. Today the company has announced that it has started rolling out Android 9.0 (Pie) Android TV update to these users. Xiaomi also adds that these are one of the TVs to get Android Pie update. Other older models will get the update after that.

LG has announced Q70, the company’s latest smartphone in the Q Series in Korea. This is the successor of Q60 that was introduced at the MWC earlier this year. This has a 6.4-inch Full HD+ punch hole display, which houses a 16-megapixel camera, is powered by Snapdragon 675 SoC with 4GB of RAM, runs Android Pie, has a 32-megapixel rear camera along with a 13-megapixel ultra wide lens and a 5-megapixel depth sensing camera for portrait shots.
