Vivo NEX 3 5G smartphone with ‘waterfall screen’, Snapdragon 855 Plus to be announced in September [Update: Teaser video confirms popup front camera, triple rear cameras]

Vivo has posted a new teaser video that confirms that the phone will feature a pop-up front camera and circular triple rear camera module.

Vivo general manager already posted sketches and official image of the NEX 3 5G smartphone showing off the phone’s ‘waterfall screen’ which is curved on all the sides. Today the company has confirmed that the phone will be introduced in China in September.

Another leak reveals that the phone will come with 99.6% screen-to-body ratio since it has curved sides, Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC combined with Qualcomm’s X50 modem for 5G connectivity and a 64-megapixel rear camera. This should use the Samsung’s 1/7″ 0.8-micrometer (μm) pixel 64MP ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor that will make its debut with the Redmi Note 8 Pro later this week and the Realme XT next month.

Sketch of the phone revealed triple rear cameras arranged inside a circle, inspired by mechanical watches. We can expect more details and the exact launch date in the coming weeks.
