The REDMAGIC Astra 2 Gaming Tablet will be available on the official REDMAGIC website with Early Bird Access starting from August 10th and Open Sales begin August 26.

The REDMAGIC Astra 2 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, configured with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The flagship platform is engineered to handle demanding mobile titles, background multitasking, and performance-intensive applications.
To supplement the primary chipset, REDMAGIC has integrated its proprietary RedCore R4 gaming chip. This secondary processor offloads specific tasks from the main SoC, managing:

System performance is further governed by the Energy Cube 3.0 optimization engine. The Astra 2 features a 9.06-inch 2.4K (2,400 × 1,504 pixels) OLED panel with a 90.1% screen-to-body ratio and 4.9mm bezels. The display utilizes an advanced OLED material integrated with a Full Black Polarizer (POL), designed to improve contrast, deepen black levels, and enhance power efficiency.
For touch responsiveness, the tablet incorporates a dedicated Synaptics S3930 touch system, providing an average touch sampling rate of 300Hz and an instant sampling rate up to 2,000Hz to ensure precise input registration during competitive gaming.
AquaCore Cooling System 2.0
To mitigate thermal throttling under prolonged workloads, the Astra 2 introduces the AquaCore Cooling System 2.0. This marks the industry’s first implementation of a flowing liquid cooling architecture inside a tablet.
The thermal system consists of several integrated layers:
- Active Liquid Loop: Utilizes micron-level flow channels, piezoelectric ceramic micropumps, and an AI server-grade fluorinated coolant to continuously circulate fluid.
- Liquid Metal 3.0: Applied directly above the vapor chamber to accelerate heat transfer away from the CPU.
- 4D Vapor Chamber: Features a dual-side protruding structure that expands the effective dissipation area without adding bulk to the device.
The cooling mechanism is entirely sealed, non-conductive, and leak-resistant, certified to operate in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 70°C. The system is also reinforced with anti-puncture and drop-resistant protections.
Battery, Charging, and Connectivity
The device is equipped with an 8,300mAh dual-cell battery optimized for high-capacity endurance. It supports up to 75W fast charging, capable of replenishing the battery from zero to full in approximately 60 minutes via its primary USB 3.2 Gen 2 port.
A distinct feature of the Astra 2 is its dual Type-C port layout:
- Short-side USB-C port: Supports up to 75W charging.
- Long-side USB-C port: Supports up to 40W charging and audio output, allowing users to separate power and wired audio cables during landscape gameplay.
