Micromax Funbook Pro 10.1-inch tablet running Android 4.0 now available for Rs. 9999

Micromax has introduced Funbook Pro, successor of the Funbook that launched in April. It is now available in India exclusively from online retailer Snapdeal. Other than the 10.1-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) display, most of the specs are similar including, 1.2 GHz Cortex A8 processor, 0.3MP VGA front facing camera and 3G via Tata Docomo Photon+ Dongle . The RAM has been upgraded to 1GB and it comes with 8GB internal memory with expandable micro SD slot and 5600 mAh battery. Samsung Galaxy S Duos with Android 4.0 image and specs surface

Samsung Galaxy S Duos (S7562), Dual SIM Android phone has surfaced online along with the complete specs. The design looks similar to the Galaxy S III but according to GSMArena it is expected to comes with a Dual SIM support with dual standby, 4.0-inch WVGA(480×800) capacitive touch screen display and 1 GHz MSM7227A Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Apple iPhone and iPad Mini Launch Event might be set for September 12

Multiple sources are claiming that the next big Apple product launch is about a month away. iMore is reporting a September 12th date for the event in which the new iPhone (iPhone 5) and a smaller version of the iPad (iPad Mini) will be launched. There have been multiple leaks of parts and cases related to new iPhone in recent weeks and the iPhone 4S is about to turn one this October.So the rumours might be pointing in the right direction.The new iPhone might go on sale on September 21st.

HTC Incredible S Android 4.0 OTA update starts rolling out in India

HTC has stared rolling out Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update for Incredible S in India. The Incredible S was launched in India in March 2011 with Android 2.2 (Froyo) and it got the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) update in May 2011. HTC announced the global Android 4.0 update schedule last month and started rolling out Android 4.0 update for Sensation XL and Evo 3D in India last month. Tata DOCOMO launches Sneham Friendship Day local calling voucher in Andhra Pradesh


Tata DOCOMO has launched a new local calling voucher  called Sneham pack for Friendship Day for pre-paid GSM and CDMA customers in Andhra Pradesh. This new pack costs Rs. 23 that lets the customers make local on-net (Tata Docomo numbers) 1 paise per 6 seconds and to other local mobile numbers at 1 paise per 2 seconds. 10-inch BlackBerry PlayBook images surface

Images of 10-inch BlackBerry PlayBook has surfaced in a Vietnamese website. The BlackBerry roadmap that leaked earlier this month mentioned a 10-inch BlackBerry PlayBook scheduled for Q3 2013. Apple buys security firm AuthenTec for $356 million


Apple has purchased AuthenTec that offers fingerprint security on PCs and mobile devices for $356 million. The company also develops encryption technology, fingerprint sensors and identity management software. IDC: Mobile Phone Market Q2 2012 – Samsung, Apple top Smartphone vendors by shipments

Samsung, Nokia and Apple are the leading Mobile vendors by shipments once again in Q2 2012, according to a report by Research Firm IDC (International Data Corporation). Mobile phone market grew 1% year over year in Q2 2012 with worldwide shipments of 406.0 million units compared to 401.8 million units in Q2 2011. Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro Preview

At the Mobile Benchmarking Workshop here in San Francisco , Qualcomm showed off it’s next generation Quadcore mobile processor – the Snapdragon S4 Pro (APQ 8064) .  And guess what Qualcomm just did not make just a boring announcement about a chipset and that the devices using the chip will be in the market later this year. But , Qualcomm let us use a tablet (prototype obviously ) which uses the new quadcore chip with 4 Krait cores along with the new Adreno 320 GPU.
