MapmyIndia has announced that they would offer MapmyIndia Navigator Mobile app with turn-by-turn navigation for free for BlackBerry Z10 users in India. After downloading the app, you can choose the map package. The app has an intuitive UI, and offers Full 3D maps & buildings, House-address level details, POIs like restaurants, ATMs, petrol pumps, hotels, tourist landmarks and street-level maps in thousands of cities, and more. Huawei Ascend Y300 Benchmarks

Huawei launched the Ascend Y300, the company’s latest mid-range Android smartphone in India earlier this month. Here we have the benchmarks of the device. It has a 4.0-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen IPS display, powered by a 1 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Play (MSM8225) processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) with Emotion UI. Huawei uses this Snapdragon S4 chip in several devices including the Ascend G330D, G510 and G600, apart from the Ascend Y300. Let’s see how the device performs in the benchmark tests. These apps ofer Disney UTV’s content across Movies, Television, Hollywood and English content.  All these apps have crossed the 15 million download mark in their test phase itself. Over 2.5 million devices Nokia Asha series phones come pre-loaded with the UTV App. These apps offer on-the-go video streaming apps work even on low-bandwidth GPRS networks. Facebook Home crosses 500,000 downloads

Facebook has been trying to make its mark in the mobile segment for a while now with both hardware partnerships and software based offerings. Its latest attempt, Facebook Home, has been downloaded over 500,000 times within the span of a week. The application works as a replacement homescreen, lockscreen and app launcher with a heavy focus on Facebook content. This number pales in comparison to Instagram which brought in 1 million downloads in under 24 hours.

It comes with a 2-megapixel rear camera and has a VGA front-facing camera. It has a SIM card slot for voice calling 2G data connectivity. It has 3G support through dongles and comes with a HDMI out that lets you connect the tablet to TVs. It is made of high quality plastic with UV paint. Salora launched the Protab and Protab HD tablets last month. It comes with range of pre-loaded apps including Facebook, King Soft, IBIBO games, IBIBO browser and social networking apps. It has a 5.3-inch qHD (540 x 960 pixels) IPS capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It comes with a 8MP rear camera wih LED flash and a 1.3MP front-facing camera. It has dual SIM support with dual standby similar to other Byond smartphones. The company launched the Byond PIII with a 6-inch display last year  and the Byond Phablet PII with a 5.7-inch HD display earlier this year. Zen Mobile has launched the Zen Ultrafone 701 HD, the company’s latest flagship Android smartphone in India. Pre-bookings for the phone started earlier this month.  It has a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It packs a a 8MP auto focus camera with LED Flash, BSI sensor, full HD video recording, Panorama Shot, and Burst shot with upto 99 shots on the go. It has a 3.2 MP front-facing camera and comes with dual SIM support with dual Standby. This is the company’s first high-end smartphone sin the Ultrafone category, and it is aimed at smart and tech savvy youth. Nokia teases new Asha devices, to be launched on April 24th

It has been a while since Nokia launched new devices in its Asha range of low to mid range priced mobile phones. Last time we saw cheap phones from Nokia was at the Mobile World Congress in which they announced the Nokia 301 and the Nokia 105, which were surprisingly not part of the Asha range. It was not surprising to think that may be Nokia is going for full touch for its Asha brand exclusively, especially with the success for devices like the Asha 311. With Android devices completely eroding Nokia’s marketshare at the low end, they desperately need a refresh, and the above image suggests that Nokia will be gearing up for a new wave of Asha devices starting April 24th.

The FonePad is one of the first Intel Atom Z2420  powered Android tablets to hit the market. Asus announced the FonePad at MWC 2013 this year along with the Padfone Infinity. The “FonePad” as the name suggests is a 3G tablet and phone packed into a 7 inch tablet form factor at an affordable price point. Yes there are a couple of microphones and an earpiece on the device and you can actually put the FonePad to the ear and make a phone call although we don’t know if it will look cool. The tablet comes in 2 colours – Champagne Gold and Titanium Gray. Here is a video where we unbox the Champagne Gold version of the Asus FonePad.

Xolo launched the Xolo B700 with a last month for Rs. 8,999. We brought you the unboxing of the device last week. Here are the benchmarks of the device. The Xolo B700 features 4.3-inch (960 x 540 pixels) 16M color IPS display with 256 ppi pixel density, powered by a 1 GHz dual-core Mediatek MT6577 processor with PowerVR SGX 531 GPU. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) similar to the Xolo A700 and A800. This has a humongous 3450 mAh battery that promises up to 23 hours talk time on 2G. Let’s get into the benchmarks.

HTC has announced the Desire L, a new Android smartphone in Taiwan. It has a 4.3-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen Super LCD2 display and is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor similar to the Desire P that was unveiled earlier this month. No details about the Android version. It has a 5MP auto focus camera on the back with LED Flash, BSI sensor for better low-light imaging and comes with Beats audio support. Cut the Rope was first launched in October 2010, Cut the Rope Experiments was launched for iPhone  and iPad on August 2011, which was released on Android last March. First press image of the Nokia Lumia 928 for Verizon USA surfaced earlier this month. Now a new render of the phone has surfaced from the same source, evleaks. The Nokia Lumia 928, a Lumia 920 rumored under the codename Laser would have a Xenon Flash along with an LED flash similar to the Nokia 808 PureView. The new image looks a bit polished and the phone looks thicker than the Lumia 920 as you can see in the render. This is obvious since the Xenon flash module would be larger than the LED flash. Evernote has updated the Skitch app for iPhone and iPad to version 2.5 that brings lot of new features including PDF support that lets you add annotations to PDF files. This is a premium feature, but it is available as a free trail for all the users for 30 days. This update also brings option to add stamps to make an visual impression on anything. You can place a stamp on an image to quickly indicate that you like something, hate it, or need a deeper explanation. You can also add text to these stamps.
