LG rolls out Android 4.1 update for Optimus Vu 2 in Korea

LG has started rolling out Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update for the Optimus Vu 2 in Korea. The LG Optimus Vu 2 was launched in Korea back in September with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). LG confirmed Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update for range of high-end devices including, Optimus LTE 2, Optimus G, Optimus Vu and Optimus Vu 2 last year. LG buys webOS for Smart TVs

LG Electronics has announced that they have acquired webOS operating system technology from HP that include, source code, associated documentation, engineering talent and related websites associated with webOS for development of next-generation Smart TV technology. Sony Mobile to launch Firefox OS device in 2014

Mozilla previewed the first commercial build of its Firefox OS at the MWC 2013. The company had announced that Alcatel (TCL), LG, ZTE and Huawei would release smartphones running Firefox OS later this year. Telefónica one of the operator partners for the Firefox OS has announced that they have partnered with Sony Mobile to bring the Firefox-powered mobile devices next year. Airtel to launch Voice services for 4G LTE customers in Pune


Airtel has announced that they would launch voice services for 4G TD-LTE customers in Pune soon, through its existing GSM network. Airtel is the only operator in India to combine voice with TD-LTE services through GSM network. Airtel launched their 4G LTE services in Pune last  October, followed by Kolkata and Bengaluru. Nokia Siemens Networks would deploy its Circuit Switched FallBack (CSFB) voice solution in the operator’s live TD-LTE network in Pune. LG unveils World’s smallest Wireless Charger WCP-300

LG has releases a new Wireless Charging Pad (WCP-300), which is just 6.98 cm in diameter. LG claims that it is the world’s smallest wireless charger. Even though it is small in size, it would would offer better charging efficiency than the existing LG wireless chargers with up to 1.7 times large area with its circular design. Asus Padfone Infinity first non-Apple device to use a nanoSIM card

While we are playing with the impressive Asus Padfone Infinity earlier today , we noticed that the phone was incredibly thin and also had a solid construction. What got our attention was the nano-SIM card slot on the top left of the new PadFone infinity.Currently Apple is only device maker which uses a nano SIM card in the iPhone 5 and the iPad mini Cellular version. ZTE Open with Firefox OS, 1 GHz processor announced

ZTE has announced the ZTE Open with Mozilla Firefox OS. It is just an entry-level smartphone with a 3.5-inch (480×320 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, 1GHz MSM7225A Snapdragon S1 processor. It has a 3.2MP fixed focus camera and packs a 1200 mAh battery. The Firefox OS has integrated Facebook and Twitter apps,. You can download more apps from the Firefox Marketplace. ZTE Grand Memo with 5.7-inch HD display, 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor announced

ZTE teased the Grand Memo at Hong Kong last month, now the company has officially unveiled the device at MWC 2013. It features a 5.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display, powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm 800 processor with Adreno 330 GPU and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). We have seen the Optimus G Pro, HTC One and the latest Asus Padfone Infinity, but this is the first Smartphone to be announced with a Snapdragon 800 processor.  It has 13MP auto focus camera with LED Flash and a 1MP front-facing camera. Asus fonepad with 7-inch IPS display, 3G voice calling, 1.2 GHz Intel Atom processor announced

Asus has announced the most rumored fonepad finally at the MWC 2013 in Barcelona. It comes with a 7-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) IPS display, runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and is powered by a 1.2 GHz Intel Atom Z2420 processor. It has a 3 MP rear camera with 720p video recording and a 1.2 MP front-facing camera. It has metallic finish and comes with 3G support with voice calling features. Asus Padfone Infinity with 5-inch 1080p display, 1.7 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor announced

Asus has announced the Padfone Infinity, successor of the Padfone 2 that was unveiled few months back. It has a 5-inch Full HD (1920×1080 pixels) IPS display, powered by 1.7 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor with Adreno 320 GPU and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a metallic body and comes with a PadFone station dock with a 10.1-inch (1920×1080 pixels) display with anti-finger print coating. It has unibody frame and brushed metal aluminium finish. Intel unveils Clover Trail+ dual-core Atom processors

Intel already unveiled Clover Trail+ dual-core Atom processors, Z2580, Z2560 and Z2520 at the MWC 2013. Intel already promised that they would show the  devices with the platform at MWC. These are based on 32 nm High-k/metal gate transistor technology and supports 1080p Full HD video recording and playback. These support up to 1920 x 1200 display for large screen tablets.
