Asus has released the Android 4.4 (KitKat) update for the Padfone Infinity (A80) and the Fonepad Note 6 (ME560CG). It rolled out the Kitkat update for the Padfone 2 last month. The KitKat update also brings Asus ZenUI with a new user interface for these devices. The ZenUi brings clean layout, flat icons, new color themes, animations, new ringtone and notification tones. Asus has finally announced the new Padfone Infinity at an event in Taipei as they promised last week. The new Padfone Infinity is the fourth device in the Padfone series that lets you dock the phone in the Padfone station to convert it into a tablet. The new Padfone Infinity packs a 5-inch Full HD (1920×1080 pixels) IPS display similar to the last-gen device, but this is powered by a 2.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with Adreno 320 GPU and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) out of the box. Asus has uploaded a new video teaser for the new Padfone on their YouTube channel. Asus has also revealed that the new Padfone is landing on September 17th. Engadget reports that they have received an invite for the new Padfone Infinity event in Taipei next Tuesday. The new teaser doesn’t reveal anything, but the leaked specifications of the Asus Padfone Infinity A86 reveals that the device would come with a Snapdragon 800 processor. Asus unveiled the Padfone Infinity, 3rd Padfone in the series back in Feburuary at the MWC 2013. It went on sale in Taiwan back in April. We brought you the unboxing of the device last month, here we have the benchmarks of the device. It is powered by quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor clocked at 1.7 GHz with Adreno 320 GPU. It runs on Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean).

Asus announced the PadFone infinity which is the 3rd generation PadFone at MWC 2013 earlier this year in Barcelona. Now the handset has gone on sale in some markets such as Asus’s home market Taiwan. As you might be aware I am right now in Taipei for Computex 2013 and managed to get my hands on the Padfone Infinity which is currently on sale here for around 20990 Taiwanese dollars or Rs.40000 approx. Check out the unboxing video below featuring the HTC One and PadFone 2 as well. We managed to only get the phone part of the Padfone , the tablet part or the Padfone Station was not available.

Asus Padfone Infinity that was announced last month in MWC 2013 would be launched in Taiwan on 26th March, according to a recent report from Central News Agency. The Padfone Infinity is the third device in the Padfone series, which follows the similar design as the first two Padfone devices. It lets you dock the phone in the Padfone station, which can be docked in a keyboard.
