Apple introduces Siri-powered HomePod speaker for $349

Apple unveiled Siri-powered smart speaker HomePod at WWDC 2017, as expected. The 7-inch tall is Apple’s answer to Amazon Echo and Google Home as it offers similar functions like playing music, checking the news and controlling other connected devices in the home. These come in new 10.5-inch model and 12.9-inch models with Retina display, refresh rates of up to 120Hz and are powered by new Apple’s A10X Fusion chip that promises 30% faster CPU speed and 40% faster GPU speed compared to previous generation iPad Pro models. Apple today at the WWDC 2017 announced iMac Pro, which is its fastest iMac ever. It features an entirely new design, 27-inch Retina 5K display with support for 1 billion colors, up to 18-core Xeon processors and up to 22 Teraflops of graphics computation. It has  all-flash architecture and all-new thermal design, and promises up to 80% more cooling capacity with the same thin and seamless iMac design.

It is a 802.11ac dual-band router, similar to the Mi Router 3 that we had unboxed recently, but this comes with a faster processor, more RAM and ROM compared to the predecessor. Andy Rubin’s Essential accused by Spigen for trademark infringement

Andy Rubin’s Essential revealed its first high-end smartphone last week. Now, the company is facing a trademark infringement legal suit from the US-based accessory and case maker Spigen. A legal document was acquired by Android Police that mentions Spigen already holds the trademark for “Essential” that covers a number of mobile accessories it sells, including phone cases, chargers, and headphones.

Reliance Jio 4G speed fastest in April shows TRAI data

Last year Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI)  launched MySpeed app to measure and upload internet speeds and also launched Analytics Portal to show users in detail about network coverage, data speed in their area and Quality of Service (QoS) of their telecom operators. Moto Z Play Android 7.1.1 Nougat soak test begins in India, coming to Moto X Play soon

Almost four months after rolling out Android 7.0 (Nougat) update for the Moto Z Play smartphone in India, the company has started Android 7.1.1 update for select users who are in the Moto Z Play soak test program in India and Brazil. The latest update also includes June 2017 security update for the smartphone. The update comes a month after a minor 51.9MB April security update with build number NPNS25.137-24-1-9.

Files and Activity app placeholders surface on App Store ahead of WWDC 2017

Apple is all set to introduce iOS 11, the next major iOS upgrade for iPhone and iPad, and several new apps at the 28th annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Jose, California in the next few hours. Now, placeholders for ‘Files for iOS’ and ‘Activity for iOS’ have surfaced on the App Store. Last week 32-bit applications stopped appearing in App Store search results, the new Files app only supports 64-bit architectures, as noted by Steven Troughton-Smith.
