Earlier this month, OPPO announced ColorOS 12, and also released a detailed roll-out plan for OPPO and OnePlus devices. Now, Xiaomi has gone a step ahead, and announced the Android 12 Stable testing program for Mi 11 series devices.
Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 8 Pro smartphone in India running MIUI 10.4 Global Stable on top of Android 9.0 (Pie). The smartphone has already received Android 10 based MIUI 12 Stable update in various regions including India.

Xiaomi’s Redmi launched the Redmi 8A Dual, an updated version of Redmi 8A with Dual Cameras, and a new Aura X Grip design in the country last month, running MIUI 11.0 Global Stable on top of Android 9.0 (Pie). POCO launched the POCO X2 smartphone in India last month, running MIUI 11.0 Global Stable on top of Android 10. POCO X2 is the rebranded version of Redmi K30 4G which was launched in China back in December. The smartphone has already started receiving Android 10 based MIUI 12 update.

Xiaomi proprietary Android skin MIUI offers a security app that has various features including Cleaner, Speed Booster, WhatsApp Cleaner, and a lot more. The app got a major overhaul with MIUI 10, but Xiaomi baked in various animations to the Security app with MIUI 12. These animations didn’t probably work smoothly on the low-end devices, as Xiaomi has decided to ditch the animation with the new version of the Security app. Xiaomiui, a Xiaomi-focused blog, took it to Twitter to share the screenshots from the new Security app.

POCO got an independent identity last year, but the company still uses Xiaomi’s proprietary Android skin – MIUI for all its devices. Though, POCO, based on community feedback, has added some features on top of MIUI and hence calls it – MIUI for POCO. Xiaomi had announced MIUI 12.5 Global a couple of months back at a mega global event.
Xiaomi announced the latest iteration of its own proprietary Android skin MIUI, dubbed MIUI 12.5 along with Mi 11 at a global event back last month. As per the schedule, the eligible devices will start receiving the MIUI 12.5 update starting Q2 2021. Now, the company has announced MIUI Global Stable ROM testing program ahead of MIUI 12.5 roll-out. Along with Xiaomi, POCO has also announced MIUI Stable testing program for a few devices.
Xiaomi introduced the MIUI 12.5, the next intermediate MIUI update in China back in December, and today it has confirmed the list of features that are coming as well as the Global roll-out details and list of devices getting it, as expected. Based on MIUI 12, the MIUI 12.5 has a strong focus on system optimizations. After a complete revamp of the system UI, its CPU usage was reduced by up to 22% while power consumption – by up to 15%, ensuring frictionless performance and graphics, said the company. Xiaomi launched the Redmi 9 Prime back in August in India. To those unaware, Xiaomi sells the same smartphone as Redmi 9 in other markets. Redmi 9 Prime’s POCO sibling, POCO M2 started receiving MIUI 12 global stable update in India a couple of weeks ago. Now, Xiaomi has started rolling out MIUI 12 stable update for Redmi 9 Prime users in India. With this update, Xiaomi concludes MIUI 12 roll-out for all it’s Redmi 9 series devices in India.

The Android 10 based update comes as MIUI 12.0.1.0.QCMINXM, and brings December Android security patch to the device.
