Samsung GALAXY Note launched in India at Rs. 34990


Samsung has launched their new Android smartphone device, the Samsung GALAXY Note. It has 5.3 inch (1280 x 800 pixels), 285 PPI HD Super AMOLED display which is the largest on any phone till date. It features 1.4GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It has advanced pen-input technology, called the S Pen for sketching and artwork. It is  9.65mm thick and weighs 178g. iOnRoad Augmented Driving app for Android uses the smartphone’s native camera and sensors to detect vehicles in front of the vehicle, alerting drivers when they are in danger. The VisualRadar, maps objects in front of the driver in realtime, calculating the user’s current speed using native sensor. It also shows audio-visual warning pops up to warn the driver of a possible collision, allowing them to brake in time. AT&T announces HTC Vivid and Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket LTE phones, coming on November 6

AT&T has announced their first LTE phone lineup with HTC Vivid and Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket that would be available from November 6. These smartphones uses both the LTE and HSPA+ 4G for a consistently fast connection in and out of LTE areas. The HTC Vivid has dual core 1.2 GHz processor 4.5-inch qHD display and the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket is powered by 1.5 GHz dual core processor and has 4.5-inch SuperAMOLED Plus display. Garmin launches Garmin Fit app for Android and iPhone and ANT+ adapter

Garmin has launched their Garmin Fit app that would let the users track metrics such as speed, pace, distance, time, calories of their activities such as running, cycling and lots more. With the help of Garmin accessories it displays heart rate and cadence. It also maps and automatically uploads workouts to Garmin Connect. They have also launched their ANT+ adapter for iPhone allowing users to use their Garmin ANT+ accessories with their iPhone. Half a milion apps sold on the Android market.

The Android Market surpassed 500,000 applications in the month of September. Although more that 37% of submissions have been taken out over the course time for an assortment of excuses, the Android Market transcended 500,000 issued  applications last month as recorded by a mobile app market intelligence firm research2guidance. This firm also stated that the Apple’s App Store has had more than 600,000 bestselling  submissions till date having 24% of apps have been removed. This is what the firm had to say – “Although Apple regularly cleans up its store from inappropriate or outdated content, its active application share still exceeds that of Android,”  it also stated about Apple – “It is likely that the more rigid application submission requirements prevent developers from publishing multiple trial or low quality applications whereas publishers in the Android Market place a lot of market testing, trials, demo and malware content.”
