Nokia Catwalk rumored specs leak out, to be launched in June

There has never been a time when products gets announced without leaking out in the open several months before launch. One can attribute that to every high profile product ever released, especially in Smartphones. Likewise, after just seeing the Lumia 928 in pictures, we have now gotten some information of the Nokia “Catwalk” which we think, according to the leak, is a global version of the Lumia 928, but made of aluminium and sans the Xenon flash. This information comes via @flavio, a person on Twitter who once leaked details of the Nokia EOS.

First press image of the Nokia Lumia 928 for Verizon USA has surfaced online. The Nokia Lumia 928, a Lumia 920 variant have been rumored for few months under the codename Laser, and the image from evleaks confirms its existence. As you can see in the leaked image, it has a Xenon Flash, which is first for a Lumia device. It also has an LED flash on the back similar to the Nokia 808 PureView.

Nokia Lumia 520 available at retail stores starting from April 6th for Rs. 10499

Nokia India has announced that the Lumia 520 would go on sale from retail stores across India starting from tomorrow, April 6th 2013 for Rs. 10,499. It went up on pre order last week and went on sale online earlier this week. Nokia already announced at the Lumia 520 launch event last month that the phone would come with 1 GB of free 3G data from Reliance per month for 2 months. Now they have announced the phone would come with unlimited access to Facebook and WhatsApp for two months for new and existing Reliance Comm (GSM) subscribers. Nokia 105 affordable phone launching in India in April for Rs. 1200

Nokia 105, the company’s most affordable entry-level phone with a color screen would launch in India later this month, according to a recent report from Hindu Business Line. The Nokia 105 was announced at the MWC 2013 back in February. It has a 1.45-inch (128 x 128 pixels) 65k Colour TFT Display, has FM Radio support and comes with Nokia Life in select markets. This phone is based on Nokia’s Series 30 platform similar to the Nokia 100 and 101 affordable entry-level phones that were launched in India last year. Nokia Lumia 520 now available on Snapdeal for a price of Rs. 10,390

Nokia Lumia 520, the cheapest Windows Phone 8 device till date was recently launched in India with availability dates promised around the second week of April, but jumping ahead, it has now appeared on Snapdeal, one of the online marketplaces for phones in India. It is showing up as available for Rs. 10,390 with delivery slate as “dispatched within 15 business days” which is normal for any phone they sell. The low-mid end Windows Phone 8 device was initially set to launch globally in Q2, but, India being an important market and following the relatively good success of the Lumia 510, it seems to have been prioritized for India, which is great news for budget smartphone buyers.

Zinio, the popular magazine reading application, has announced its intentions to launch on the Windows Phone 8 platform. The company declared that the application will be made available exclusively to Nokia’s Lumia range of Windows Phone handsets at launch.

Nokia launched the Lumia 520 in India last week. Online retailer Flipkart has put up the device for pre-order at a price tag of Rs. 10,499. It wasunveiled at the Mobile World Congress in 2013 in Barcelona last month, and appeared on the Nokia India Shop online portal earlier this month, which still says ‘coming soon’ without any price tag. It has a 4-inch (800 x 480 pixels) display with 2D hardened glass, and is super sensitive touch for finger nail and glove use. D Shivkumar, Nokia India and MEA MD, resigns

D Shivakumar, MD at Nokia India, has quit the Finnish smartphone manufacturer after an 8 year stint that began in 2006. Based out of Dubai, Shivakumar over saw operations in 90 countries including Africa, West Asia and India. Shivakumar has no intentions of being associated with mobility, telecom and FMCG once he returns to India in June.

Video: Downhill Action with the Nokia Lumia 920 GoPro Chest Harness

A week ago I have received a package with something very cool inside. In the package I have a found a custom-built Nokia Lumia 920 case, made of Plexiglass, built on a GoPro chest harness. It’s probably no secret that I’m the unsportiest person in Austria, so I’ve contacted my friend Gernot Lambeck, a huge downhill biking fan. He agreed to give this a try, and so we met last weekend for some action in a nearby forest. With the OIS (Optical Image Stabiliser) built inside the Lumia 920, Nokia promises a great video experience even in difficult situations. Blasting through a forest on a bike would probably be “difficult”, and I was looking forward to see how the 920 handled the abuse.

Nokia has cut the price of the Lumia 820 to Rs. 23,499 in India. The Lumia 820 was announced back in September 2012, and it was launched in India earlier this year at a price tag of Rs. 27559. It has a 4.3-inch (800 x 480 pixels) AMOLED ClearBlack display, 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor and runs on the latest Windows Phone 8 OS. Nokia has launched the Lumia 720 in India at an event in Delhi. The Lumia 720 was unveiled at the MWC 2013 last month along with the Lumia 520. It has a 4.3-inch (800 x 480 pixels) ClearBlack display, powered by a 1 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8227 processor and runs on the latest Windows Phone 8 OS. It has a 6.7-megapixel auto focus camera at the back with LED Flash, Carl Zeiss optics and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. It is 9 mm thick and weighs 129 grams. Nokia registers 23% drop in revenues in India

As part of its rather tumultuous transition period, Nokia has reported a decline in annual revenue from its India business for the second consecutive year. A drop of 23% has been reported resulting in annual revenues of €2,227 million. Nokia accounts this to increasing competition and currency fluctuation
