Asus PadFone 2 official, launching in Europe and Asia including India in December

Asus has officially announced the Padfone 2, successor of the PadFone that was launched in India last month. It comes with a 4.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD Super IPS+ display with 550 nits brightness and is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 APQ8064 processor with Adreno 320 GPU. It would have Qualcomm’s MDM9215 chip for the LTE support. It has a optional keyboard dock. The specs, images, and the video have already been leaked online. Asus Padfone 2 shows off larger screen, new dock in video

Asus took the world by surprise when it launched what is still the world’s only phone and tablet combo, the Padfone. The company is planning to update the specifications of the phone, improve on the docking mechanism and we just got our first look at it via a video where CEO Jimmy Shen walks us through the Padfone 2.

The Padfone 2 is believed to include a 4.7″ screen with a 720p resolution. The camera too is believed to have been bumped up to 13 megapixels. While the  original Padfone Docking Station included a door to let you slide in the phone, the redesigned version is much thinner and has an exposed back. Asus PadFone 2 detailed specs surface, 4.7-inch Super IPS+ HD display, 1.5 GHz quad-core CPU and 13MP camera

Asus recently announced that the they would unveil the PadFone 2 at an event on October 16th that would take place simultaneously in Milan and Taipei. Some details of the PadFone 2 have already been leaked in a benchmark that revealed that it would come with a 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 APQ8064 processor with Adreno 320 GPU, 2GB of RAM and Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) OS. Asus to announce PadFone 2 in October

Asus has started sending out invitations for the launch event of the PadFone 2, successor of the PadFone. It is scheduled for October 16th that would take place simultaneously in Milan and Taipei. The AnTuTu benchmarks of the PadFone 2 have been reportedly leaked that reveals that the PadFone 2 would be powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 APQ8064 processor with Adreno 320 GPU and come with a 2GB of RAM. Asus Transformer Pad TF300TG launched in India for Rs. 43999

Asus has launched the Transformer Pad TF300TG, their new Tablet in India. It can Transform into a notebook with a mobile dock that has full QWERTY keyboard and a Multi-touch track pad. It has a 10.1-inch (1280×800 pixels) LED Backlight IPS display and is powered by a 1.2GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Asus PadFone launched in India for Rs. 64999

Asus has finally launched the PadFone in India, as we said last week. Asus unveiled the PadFone last year, but they detailed the specs only at the MWC 2012, earlier this year. The PadFone comes with 4.3-inch (960×540 pixels) Super AMOLED display and is powered by a 1.5 GHz Dual-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). The PadFone could be docked into the PadFone station that transforms it into a tablet that has 1.3MP front-facing camera and a micro HDMI port. The PadFone weighs 129 g and the Padfone Station weighs 724 g. Asus PadFone Preview

Asus unveiled the PadFone last year, but they detailed the specs only at the MWC 2012, earlier this year. Asus would finally launch the PadFone in India today. We just heard from Asus India that they are launching the kick ass Asus Padfone along with the Transformer Pad TF300T  in India next week. The PadFone is a innovative concept from Asus , a phone which can fit inside a tablet and you can use the phone like a tablet. If you wonder will you take calls when the phone is docked inside the tablet , it comes with a interesting bluetooth headset for the same.

Google to announce a 3G Nexus 7 in October, right in time for the iPad mini

Google’s $200 Android tablet, the Nexus 7, is a sweet little device that’s attracted a ton of press because of everything it can do for half the price of the iPad 2. Most folks get the $250 model with 16 GB of internal memory, but still, the $200 8 GB model can handle most people’s needs just fine. There’s a slight problem though. The Nexus 7 isn’t very useful if you try to use it outside your home since it can only connect to WiFi networks. If you live in a part of the world where you can connect to an open WiFi hotspot with little to no effort, then congratulations. Not everyone is so lucky. According to Paul O’Brien from MoDaCo, he says that Google will start selling a 3G enabled Nexus 7 in roughly six weeks. To put it another way, mid October, which coincidentally is when we’re expecting Apple to announce a smaller iPad. Asus Tablet 600 gets renamed to Vivo Tab RT

Asus has announced at IFA 2012 that it has renamed its Tablet 600 to Vivo Tab RT. It was originally announced at Computex in June. The specs would remain the same that includes a 10.1-inch (1366×768 pixels) Super IPS+ display with 10 fingers multi-touch panel, NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor, 2GB RAM and 32GB internal memory. Google Nexus 7 Unboxing

I was recently in the US on a short visit and managed to pick up the Google Nexus 7 first Android Tablet to run on Android 4.1 JellyBean. Here is a quick unboxing video of the this tiny little tablet from Google & Asus which is priced at $199 (excluding tax and shipping). This 7 inch tablet has a back-lit IPS display which sports a resolution of 1280×800 pixels

Google Nexus 7 Price Revealed – $199 takes on the Amazon Kindle Fire

Google has announced it’s first Nexus branded tablet in partnership with Asus and it has announced the price of the 7 inch tablet. Consumers can order the tablet from the Google Play Store directly. The tablet will be available for $199 starting from mid-July.  Looks like Google is taking on the Amazon Kindle Fire which is priced exactly the same. Asus PadFone official demo video released


Asus has posted demo videos of their PadFone that can dock into a tablet. They unveiled the PadFone last year and revealed the complete specs of the device earlier this year at MWC 2012. The PadFone comes with a 4.3-inch (960×540 pixels), Super AMOLED capacitive Multi touch display and the PadFone Station that docks the phone has 10.1-inch display. Asus Transformer Prime update now rolling out

Asus Transformer Prime is now receiving firmware update to version 9.4.2.21 OTA as they announced yesterday. This update brings new features such as Lockscreen Notification control, ASUS Vibe 2.0, Ethernet support via USB adapters and more. Sadly, there is no Face unlock feature in this update.
