KRAFTON India has officially rolled out the Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) 5th Anniversary Edition 4.5 Update. Marking one of the largest crossover seasons in the game’s history, the update represents a strategic shift for the title.
Five years post-launch, BGMI has surpassed 260 million players in India, transitioning from a standalone battle royale game into a broader platform for digital play, user generation, and social connection.
The 4.5 update consolidates previously individual collaborations with major global intellectual properties (IPs)—including Naruto, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and Ferrari—simultaneously into the live environment. The update also introduces new user-generated content via the World of Wonder (WOW) Mode, India-themed Card Collections, and upcoming creator partnerships.
Global IP Collaborations
The 4.5 Update focuses on high-fidelity integrations of three distinct global brands:
Naruto: Ninjas Assemble
The headline theme mode modifies the Erangel and Livik maps to recreate locations from the anime series, such as Hokage Rock, Ichiraku Ramen, and the Ninja Academy. Gameplay changes include a ninjutsu-based combat system featuring abilities like the Rasengan, Chidori, and Flying Raijin Jutsu, alongside a specialized “Ninja Run” movement mechanic and voice-activated ninjutsu.
- Kurama Defense: A server-wide cooperative event that temporarily disables player-versus-player (PvP) combat, tasking the player community with defending the Hidden Leaf Village against a multi-phase Nine-Tails boss assault.
- Cosmetics: Dedicated Naruto skins will be accessible via the Naruto Gold Spin, including the Sage Mode and Six Paths Mode sets. Free rewards, such as gift tracks for new and returning players, Flash Crew rapport items, and custom lobby music, will be distributed upon login.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Scheduled to go live on July 30, one day prior to the theatrical release of the film Spider-Man: Brand New Day, this integration introduces superhero traversal mechanics to Erangel. Players will be able to utilize Web Swing, Web Attack, Spider Climb, and Spider-Sense. The mode also introduces new geographic sectors, including the Skyline Plaza vertical-combat district, Peter Parker’s apartment, and Aunt May’s grave.
Ferrari

The automotive manufacturer makes its debut in BGMI, introducing four models: the Roma, Purosangue, LaFerrari, and SF90 XX Spider, each available in multiple color variants. In partnership with Ferrari and Scuderia Ferrari HP, a Formula 1 car will be placed at display stands across the map, allowing players to trigger a viewing sequence and capture in-game photographs.
User-Generated Content and Localized Systems
WOW Ecosystem Expansion
BGMI’s player-created World of Wonder (WOW) ecosystem currently features more than 50,000 map designers. The 4.5 Update expands these tools by introducing new modes, highlighted by Steal a Brain Rot and Shoot a Brain Rot. Developed in collaboration with creator DoBiG, these modes blend fast-paced action with tycoon-style progression, allowing players to collect, upgrade, and battle custom characters alongside existing bank-heist and parkour maps.
India-Themed Card Collections
The Card Collection System, inspired by traditional cricket trump cards, has been updated for easier collection, exchange, and completion. Cards can now be redeemed directly using theme tokens, featuring refreshed rotations and improved mutual-assistance sharing features. The update introduces new India-themed and Naruto-themed cards, alongside a new Flash Card featuring the Karambit – Blazing Sun.
Progression Mechanics and Social Features
X-Suit Upgrades
The update delivers three new X-Suits utilizing a revised upgrade progression mechanic. Players can select one of the core X-Suit forms and upgrade it to its highest tier through gameplay. For the first time, upgrade materials can be acquired entirely by completing dedicated in-game X-Suit missions rather than via premium purchases alone.
Quality-of-Life and Social Tools
To enhance the social layer of the application, KRAFTON has introduced several community management features:
- Team-Up Reservation: Allows squads to schedule matches up to seven days in advance. The system automatically alerts offline teammates as the scheduled slot approaches.
- Private Squad Settings: Provides players with control over their visibility and team-up status.
- Flash Crew Season: Introduces new Naruto-themed crew rewards and localized social hubs for post-match interaction.
Upcoming Creator Partnerships
KRAFTON India has confirmed that prominent content creator CarryMinati will feature heavily in the game in the coming weeks. A series of dedicated in-game experiences and a major reveal are scheduled to align with India’s Independence Day celebrations in mid-August.
