Let’s talk iPhone , this is what the invite sent by Apple to some media outlets looks like and Engadget got hold of one. The rumour about an iPhone event on Oct 4th was first reported by AllThingsD and it’s turned out to be true. The event takes place on October 4th at 10am at the Apple Campus at 1 , Infinite Loop. We are not sure if Apple would launch only one device as there has been a lot of talk about a cheaper iPhone as well.
Apple’s next generation iPhone/iPhone 5 is easily the most anticipated gadget this year. The launch date has been speculated numerous times but we still have no announcement so far. But latest rumours suggest October 4th as a more than likely day for Apple to hold an event and announce the next generation iPhones.

AllThingsD is reporting that Apple is going to hold its next big launch event on Tuesday , October 4th . And what else could Apple launch other than the next iPhone rumored as the iPhone 5 ? AllThingD has got the information from “sources close to the situation”. The device is expected to hit stores within few weeks after the announcement. This will be the first major product launch event for Apple after Steve Jobs resigned as CEO and Tim Cook took over.

Hacker pOsixninja from the Chronic Dev Team has announced the discovery of 5 new bootrom userland exploits which will be used to develop a jailbreak for Apple A5 based devices. The A5 chip is being currently used in the iPad and is expected to be the chip powering the next generation iPhone.

According to recent report by research firm IDC (International Data Corporation), the Smartphone sales in Western Europe is more than the feature phone sales in Q2 2011. The feature phone shipments were down at 29% to 20.4 million units in 2Q11, while smartphone shipments increased 48% to 21.8 million units compared to Q2 2010. Apple has been suing HTC from a long time for infringing various patents, just recently we had heard Apple telling that the whole idea of Android was taken from Apple because Andy Rubin who is the godfather of Android used to work for Apple some 20 years back, but this was not used in the case as Andy Rubin does not really work for HTC. Now HTC has had it enough and with the help of Google are trying to sue Apple.

US based home improvement chain , Lowe’s , plans to distribute close to 42,000 iPhones between its employees to improve the in store shopping experience for customers. The iPhones will allow employees to perform on-the-go product lookups, check stock, and pull up instructional videos for customers.

Apple has been behind companies manufacturing Android devices from a long time, they have sued every manufacturer having Android devices in their portfolio. Just last month Apple had filed an Injunction against the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 which was valid only in Germany, today the Dusseldorf court has said that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 does infringe some of Apple’s patents.

App usage logs for a high profile iOS developer indicate two different sets of MCC (Mobile Country Code) and MNC (Mobile Network Code) codes from the same device. The codes correspond to AT&T and Verizon.
