Apple asks the US Court to ban sales of Samsung devices

Apple is not letting it go. The iPhone and iPad maker is re-targeting Samsung for patent infringement. Apple has filed a motion with the US court to block the U.S. sale of some older Samsung products. The move comes from the company after a jury verdict earlier this month that Samsung violated three of its patents. Apple was granted mere $119.6 million in damages against $2 billion demanded in this latest verdict.

Microsoft loses to Motorola on a patent case in Germany

Germany has become a battle ground when it comes to patent cases between top mobile device manufacturing companies. In a recent patent infringement case filed against Motorola by Microsoft which revolves around an application running on various devices, Microsoft lost to Motorola. This news made me a bit happy and surprised as this is Motorola’s first lawsuit they have won in the recent years.

Samsung to pay $1.05 billion in damages to Apple for infringing patents

The jury presiding over the Apple vs Samsung trial in a US court has just reached a verdict. We were thinking this trial would last several weeks or even months and to everyone’s surprise the jury announced the verdict just minutes ago. Pretty bad news from Samsung has it has been found to infringe several patents owned by Apple.  Samsung must pay Apple $1 billion, 51 million 855 thousand dollars $1051855000 . That is about Rs.5828.33 crores or five thousand odd crores of rupees in damages to just give you an idea about the magnitude of the verdict. The never ending patent war continues and today was another chapter where Apple’s patent violation claims were rejected by the US ITC. But this is just a preliminary ruling and the final ruling is yet to be made by the International Trade Commission.

Antitrust claim against Samsung dismissed by US court

After a bad week in court, Samsung hears some dandy news. While Apple claimed “Samsung misrepresented its intent to license certain patents on fair terms”, federal judge Lucy Koh in California has disregarded some of Apple’s antitrust claims against Samsung. Nevertheless, Apple can still reform it by revising their complaint.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 gets banned in Germany

Apple has been behind companies manufacturing Android devices from a long time, they have sued every manufacturer having Android devices in their portfolio. Just last month Apple had filed an Injunction against the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 which was valid only in Germany, today the Dusseldorf court has said that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 does infringe some of Apple’s patents.
