It has been known for a while that Samsung plans to introduce a new rugged version of the Galaxy S4. Dubbed the Galaxy S4 Active, we finally get to take a look at the device. The specifications of the phone are to be the same as the standard Galaxy S4 with the focus being on making it a water resistant, dust proof device.

Sporting a 4.7 inch display with WVGA resolution and sporting near-similar specs to the Grand Duos, this dual SIM Android 4.1 Jellybean phone is squarely aimed at competing with the various budget Android manufacturers in India who offer bigger screens for cheaper prices. Currently retailing at Rs. 16,900/- this phone will be available in two colours, black mist and frost white.

Samsung readying its India plant for manufacturing the Galaxy S4

Not too long ago, Samsung proclaimed in their REX series launch event that they had started to manufacture those range of devices at their manufacturing facility in India. They also proudly touted that the R&D was completely done in-house as well. While the R&D might still take longer for higher end devices, Samsung has announced that their Noida facility will undertake the manufacturing of the Samsung Galaxy S4 real soon, in order to meet demand. The Samsung Galaxy S4 was launched a couple of days back in India and you can see the unboxing of the Exynos 5 Octa Indian version here.

Smartphones outship Feature phones for the first time ever – IDC

International Data Corporation(IDC), the market research firm that usually outs numbers for the mobile phone market every quarter has something new to say this quarter. According to them, the first quarter of 2013 has been the first time ever in the history of the mobile phone market that the Smartphones have outshipped feature phones. The whole worldwide mobile phone market seems to have grown 4% this quarter. Samsung still remains the leader in the mobile phone market dominating sales in both smartphones as well as feature phones.

Samsung Galaxy S4 packs a Octacore Exynos Processor in India

Samsung launched the all new Galaxy S4 amidst much fanfare in Kingdom of Dreams, Gurgaon today, in India near New Delhi. Like we had expected, Samsung has not launched the Snapdragon 600 powered version like in other LTE markets including USA and Europe. The Galaxy S4 variant launched here in India will pack the Exynos 5410 Octa-core processor developed by Samsung using the ARM big.LITTLE architecture. Samsung Galaxy S4 launching at Reliance Digital stores on April 27th

Looks like Samsung is gearing up to launch the Galaxy S4 in India through multiple channels.  The much anticipated Android phone will be launched at Reliance Digital Stores  across India on April 27th with a launch party for pre-booking customers in the evening in Mumbai. Certain outlets have started pre-bookings since yesterday. We had reported today morning about the Galaxy S4 going on sale on Samsung’s official online store on 27th.

Here is an exclusive unboxing video of the newly launched Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 which is coming soon to India as the Galaxy Note 510. We have the 16GB WiFi only version with us but this tablet should be coming out in a WiFi+3G fashion too in India when it launches.Samsung announced the Galaxy Note 8.0  during MWC 2013 and showed off the Note 510 at its regional forum event in Hyderabad.It is a 8.0 inch Android  tablet running on Android 4.1.2 JellyBean and features a stylus known as S-Pen found on Samsung’s Note lineup of products. Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to feature unbreakable OLED display

Rumors have surfaced that Samsung will debut the Galaxy Note 3 at IFA with a brand new unbreakable OLED display. The screen is expected to utilize a plastic substrate with active LTPS matrix instead of the glass substrate used on the current Galaxy Note 2. The screen will have an RGB matrix.

Samsung Galaxy Mega line of Android smartphones rumored with 5.8 and 6.3 inch displays

A new report suggests that Samsung might be working on a  new line of devices even larger than the Galaxy Note phablet. Dubbed the Galaxy Mega, the  ‘phones’ will sport displays ranging between 5.8 inches and 6.3 inches. The operating system of choice is expected to be Android.
