Google Play Store India now sells the 16 GB Nexus 7 for a price of Rs. 15,999

It has been a while since we saw the Google Nexus 7 *officially* launch in India for Rs. 19,999/- but now, out of the blue, we have got the devices page on the Indian Google Play Store selling the Nexus 7 directly for Rs. 15,999 for the 16 GB version. Earlier, it was Croma, the Tata retailer that was selling it, but looks like we are finally seeing Google directly selling the device.

Google Nexus 7 dock hands on

The Google Nexus 7 Dock, made by ASUS, was quietly shown off at the Consumer Electronics show this year with no dates of availability or price. But it landed on the Google Play Store recently and we thought we should check it out. So, yes here it is, in our labs. It’s a fairly simple docking solution from ASUS, and it doesn’t have all those whizzbang features. It can dock your Nexus 7 and charge it, while at the same time output audio through a 3.5mm jack. That’s all it can do. Here is a quick demo of the dock –

Google Nexus 7 receives storage bump, 3G option

Earlier this year Google partnered with Asus to launch its first entrant in the tablet space. The 7inch tablet suitably named the Nexus 7 packed high end hardware into an Asus designed shell and ran on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Today Google bumped up storage across the spectrum while retaining the price point. A 3G option was added as well.

Rumor: Android 4.2 to be released in a few days as an incremental update for Jelly Bean

Everyone is excited about the next Nexus and also the next version of Android. Rumors are going around that the next Nexus will be announced with a new version of Android, maybe 4.2.
