Nokia Maps for WP7 revealed in screenshots

The wapxap.com team have uncovered the placeholder listing for Nokia Maps on Windows Phone devices. The market place listing shows four screenshots for the new mapping solution being developed by Nokia.

The description reads as :

Nokia Maps helps you to be a local anywhere you go. See where you are and discover places nearby in a snap. Get reviews, uncover new destinations and reach them with smart routing for public transport, walking and driving.

Nokia’s mapping service is known to offer best in class offline turn-by-turn navigation for free. This is expected to be one of the key differentiators of Nokia’s Windows Phone devices from those made by other OEMs.

Nokia to Offer Free Turn By Turn Navigation

In late 2009, Google announced that it would be giving free navigation on the Motorola DROID/MILESTONE in the North American region.

The Updates Continue to Roll from Nokia: E63 AND 5800XM get new firmware and Nokia Maps Updater goes to V1.08

Nokia E63 gets a new firmware

Closely following E71, E66 and E 51 the E63 today got its share of the updates from Nokia in the form of a new Firmware V200.21.012. There is no official changelog out yet. As always the update brings speed and web browsing improvements.

The E63 does not have UDP (User Data Preservation), so remember to backup all your data before the firmware update, since it will format the phone memory. So all you E63 users do let us know about the changes you see after updating the firmware in our comments section. Google just announced that its Gmail webmail service is now available in a mobile phone friendly format. As long as Gmail Mobile doesn’t break any patents, it should be welcome to Gmailer’s looking to escape the desktop.

Google recently launched a mobile version of its map service, in the form of a Java application.
