Nokia N96 Firmware updated to v.30.033, testing in progress

Close on the heels of the release of firmware update for N97 Nokia has today released a firmware update for the N96 taking its firmware to v.30.033 from the previous v.20.050. As with every firmware this too shall make your N96 more stable and faster to use.

The Firmware update Over The Air weighs at 3956 kb and the update OTA works as breeze, and since the N96 has UDP (User Data Preservation) so updating would not erase your Contacts Calender data etc, but as always Do Backup your data before updating. Nokia N96 in stores from September 16

The Nokia N96 launched by the company in India recently will be available across stores from September 16th.

Touted to give tough competition to the Apple iPhone, this handset will be available for Rs 35,000. Read Fonearena’s coverage of iPhone Vs N96 here.

At Rs 35,000 it is an expensive phone but with higher features than iPhone which at Rs 32,000 – 36,000 is not cheap either.

Nokia N96 Vs Apple iPhone – Indians are the lucky lot this season!

The latest debate is whether the newly launched Nokia N96 is any competition to the Apple iPhone.

While the two handsets are very competitively priced Nokia will be in the range of Rs 32,000 – 36,000 and iPhone through Vodafone will cost Rs 31,000 and Rs 36,000), we think that Nokia N96 wins hands down. Nokia has a proven ability that makes it the market leader in cell phones. And not without reason. Nokia phones are viewed as “reliable, long lasting and technologically advanced.”

The iPhone on the other hand has a technical saleability, but lacks in features especially in comparison with the N96.

The only major difference between the two handsets we see is the lack of a touch screen in the N96. Else, N96 scores over the iPhone on several counts.

Nokia N96 comes to India!

Perhaps taking into cognizance the growing dominance of India amongst the mobile users of the world, Nokia unveiled the N 96 in India atleast 30 days prior to its UK launch.

Nokia N96 to be launched in October

Nokia has officially announced that it will launch the N96 in October in the UK.

The hi-tech handset is an upgrade to Nokia N95 dual slider, which has been very popular with buyers.

This super slick looking handset boasts of some amazing features as well.

At the Mobile Asia 2008 showing, Nokia displayed most of its superb GPS handsets.

Touted to be the successor of Nokia N95, N96 is a slider phone with 16GB storage and the option to further enhance it with a MicroSD slot as well!!!

Sony Ericsson launched the XPERIA, their new G Series and one Walkman Clamshell with beefed up memory to compete with the N81 and N82.
