HTC teases RECamera in a new video ahead of launch

HTC is expected to announce the RECamera today at the ‘Double Exposure’ event. The company has released a teaser video that suggests the use of the RECamera.

HTC-RECamera

Dubbed as ‘Catching Air’, the 12 second video shows a girl playing on a swing. The girl in the video can be seen advancing forward in her swing and catching air while the camera sits still on the surface below her. This suggests a wide angle on the camera. At the end of the video we see #InFullView hashtag that again suggests the wide lens on the cameras along with stationary wide recording abilities.  The video was posted on YouTube under the REbyHTC channel.

HTC had released a teaser video last month that suggested that the RECamera is water proof and can take slow motion videos. The camera which is touted to be a GoPro competitor was also leaked in images on the RECamera website.  Stay tuned for more details about the RECamera launch at the HTC event.

Oppo to kickstart Indian operations on January 30th with the launch of N1

oppo-n1-launch-india-market

Oppo, the Chinese consumer electronics company, known for its popular smartphones like the Find 5 and the N1, has just sent out invites for an event where it will kickstart its Indian operations – Oppo Mobile India Private Limited, with the launch of its flagship device – the Oppo N1. While the invite doesn’t mention the launch of N1, FoneArena has confirmed that the company is indeed launching the device at the event. It is also really interesting to note that Oppo has courted Bollywood stars Hrithik Roshan and Sonam Kapoor for increasing brand awareness in the country. Almost all the mobile phone companies have courted stars from Bollywood and Cricket to promote their brands and Oppo is no exception.

Apple schedules event for 22nd October, Updated iPads expected

This really shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone but Apple’s upcoming fall event has been scheduled for 22nd October. Cupertino is expected to show a whole host of devices though the updated iPads will lead the announcements.

applestorepa6

The next gen iPad will see a slight mix up in terms of design. Expect to see a slimmer tablet with smaller bezels akin to the iPad Mini. Internally, it’ll pack the A7x chip possibly paired with double the amount of RAM. The iPad Mini too will see an update with the processor being upgraded as well as RAM. There are conflicting reports out there that suggest that we’ll see either the A6 or A7 processor under the hood. Either way, expect to see a decent speed bump on the tablet. Apple is evidently testing variants of the iPad Mini with and without a Retina Display and is apparently struggling with battery consumption. As is always the case with Apple, nothing is confirmed till the day of the announcement but fret not as updates are definitely coming! Samsung Galaxy Note 3 vs Moto X hands on comparison

samsung-galaxy-note-3-vs-apple-iphone-5 (7)

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3, launched at IFA received much attention mainly for its extensive customization options apart from the top end specifications. These options mainly deal with the back covers, ranging from metal to false stitched leather, and literally anything can be done with respect to the back cover. Guess which other device offers similar or even better customization? You guessed right, it’s the Moto X. One of the few devices in the world that can come with a wooden back, the Moto X is the Googlorola company’s only ticket back to being credible. With increasing competition and their top end specs, can the decidedly mid specced phone match up against the Note 3? We try to find out in a quick comparison video –
