A few days back, when the world was buzzing all about the impending launch of the Nokia N8, we received a small package from LG – India, in it, a phone (of course a phone silly! you don’t expect a microwave oven review here!), the GT540 also known as the Optimus. This phone bears no resemblance to the Transformers protagonist – Optimus Prime.

So we decided to review the phone despite the fact that you will be busy reading N8 and it’s features.

Nokia N8 hardcore gorilla glass test!

While still waiting for my own Nokia N8 to arrive, my friend Stefanos from the greek Pestaola Blog took Things to the Extreme. What did he do? PROPERLY testing the Gorilla Glass screen on his dark grey Nokia N8. He starts off with ordinary things like having coins and keys in a pocket and finishes off with.. well, watch for yourself!

Nokia N8, The Initial List Of Fourteen Wins And Fails

The N8 (or Nate as I’m growing used to call it) is here. It’s been released, it’s shipping, and people all around the world are receiving their units. Finally, after too long a wait, I have an N8 in my hands, for a proper test and review. Following my “The N8 is Perfect, There, I said it” assertion, there really is very little I can say to top it up. Or can I?

The N8 landed in my hands 2 days ago, and while I still maintain that it IS the perfect handset for the photography and multimedia buffs, I had mentioned that it doesn’t target me, and I’m not particularly thrown towards buying one. So, over the last 48 hours, I’ve gone from awe to oh to ouch and back to awe several times with the N8 in my hands. Here is the compiled initial list of N8 wins and fails, in my book.

Olive Pad is on Track and getting Android 2.2 Froyo says Chairman of Olive Telecom

We had the chance of speaking with Mr. Arun Khanna , Chairman of Olive Telecom regarding the company’s plan to sell products through it’s online store. He told FoneArena that the Olive Pad has generated a lot of interest and that the company is in the process of upgrading the software to Android 2.2 Froyo and the device will be available  in 10-15 days

Nokia N8 costs $187 to make might be using Samsung AMOLED Display

Nokia N8 costs around $560 in India and it takes Nokia about $187 to make. The Nokia N8 hardware were supplied by Samsung Electronics Co., Toshiba Corp. and Texas Instruments Inc.  California-based iSuppli have torn down the Nokia N8 and he revealed the specs of N8 hardware.
