Samsung Electronics today announced the global launch of The Freestyle+, its latest AI-powered portable projector. Unveiled ahead of CES 2026 in Las Vegas, the new model builds on the original Freestyle design while introducing AI-based screen optimisation, higher brightness and expanded built-in entertainment features. The projector is designed for use across a wide range of spaces with minimal setup or adjustment.
Freestyle+ AI-powered portable projector
The Freestyle+ is built around AI OptiScreen, Samsung’s AI-powered screen optimisation technology that automatically adjusts the picture based on the projection environment. The system is designed to adapt the image to different surfaces and room conditions without manual calibration.
The viewing experience is supported by Vision AI Companion, Samsung’s personalised AI platform for screens. It integrates an enhanced version of Bixby with AI services from global partners, enabling more natural, conversational interaction with on-screen content.
Key features
- 3D Auto Keystone automatically corrects image distortion when projecting onto uneven or non-flat surfaces such as corners, curtains or angled walls.
- Real-time Focus continuously adjusts focus during movement or rotation to maintain image clarity.
- Screen Fit automatically resizes the image to match the projection area when used with a compatible projector screen accessory.
- Wall Calibration analyses the colour or pattern of the projection surface to reduce visual distractions during viewing.
Designed for portability, The Freestyle+ features a compact cylindrical form factor that can be easily moved between rooms or carried to different locations. The projector delivers 430 ISO lumens of brightness, nearly double that of the previous generation, improving visibility in everyday indoor environments. It includes a 180-degree rotating design, allowing projection on walls, floors or ceilings without the need for additional mounts or accessories.
The Freestyle+ includes built-in access to Samsung TV Plus, certified OTT service partners and Samsung Gaming Hub, allowing users to stream and play content directly from the projector without connecting external devices. For audio output, the projector features a built-in 360-degree speaker and supports Q-Symphony for synchronised playback with compatible Samsung soundbars.
Availability and showcase
Samsung Electronics will showcase The Freestyle+ at CES 2026, taking place from January 6 to January 9 in Las Vegas. A phased global rollout is planned for the first half of 2026.
Speaking on the launch, Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, said:
The Freestyle+ reflects Samsung’s vision to create displays that adapt naturally to how people live and move between spaces. By combining true portability with intelligent AI that enhances both the viewing environment and the content itself, The Freestyle+ makes it easier to enjoy a consistent, high-quality experience wherever you are.
