Gionee has launched Elife S5.1 in India. It is the company’s thinnest smartphone that is just 5.1mm thin and has a magnesium alloy frame. It has a 4.8-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and screen-to-body ratio of 74% since it has a narrow frame of just 1.8mm. The back cover is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by a 1.7 GHz Octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor and runs on Android 4.4 with Amigo 2.0 UI on top. Galaxy Note Edge UK launch delayed until December 12
The Galaxy Note Edge will NOT go on sale in the UK on November 28 as originally planned with Samsung confirming the handset’s launch has been delayed until December 12. Alongside the delay in the launch, Samsung have pushed back the pre-order period and shortened it to a week meaning you won’t be able to order it from Samsung or Carphone Warehouse before December 5th. BT in talks with O2 and EE over own mobile network
British Telecom is allegedly already in talks with UK network operator EE following the alleged approach by Telefonica to form a “strategic partnership” that would see BT buy the company’s UK operator O2. According to sources cited by Reuters, BT is currently in “early stage” talks with EE over a major deal which may yet present a challenge to Telefonica’s master plan. Uber expands to Kochi making it the 11th city in India with Uber service
Uber has announced that it has expanded its service to Kochi in India. Uber is growing rapidly in India by adding new cities every few months. It was initially launched in India starting from Bangalore back in August 2013 and later expanded to New Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai and Pune. It was launched in Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh and Kolkata in India simultaneously back in August, earlier this year. BT to buy O2 UK from Telefonica?
UK operator BT is rumoured to be in talks to buy O2 UK with O2’s parent company Telefonica seeking a strategic partnership with BT that would see it sell its mobile network in return for a 20% stake. According to a report on El Confidencial, Telefonica’s CEO César Alierta is exploring the partnership with BT to create a European Giant and whilst talks are at an advanced stage, “there is nothing concrete yet”. Asus PadFone mini launched in India for Rs. 15999
Asus has launched the PadFone mini (PF400CG) in India. It has a 4-inch (800 x 480 pixels) smartphone that docks into a 7-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) Padfone station. It is powered by 1.6 GHz dual-core Intel Atom (Z2560) processor and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). It has a 8-megapixel rear camera without flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.
