LG K8 with 5-inch HD display, Android 6.0, 4G LTE and K5 announced
LG has officially announced its K8 smartphone, a month after it was listed on its official site. It has also introduced K5 smartphone in the K Series. The K8 packs a 5-inch HD screen with 2.5D curved arc glass, is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6735 SoC, runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow), has a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It also has 4G LTE support. The K5 packs a 5-inch FWVA screen, runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop), has a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Sunil Lalvani – President, Qualcomm India on Make in India
Qualcomm is looking to help make India a hub for design capabilities for smartphones, tablets and IoT. The company is also looking to leverage India’s engineering talent to scale innovation for both local consumption, and rest of the world. On those lines, Qualcomm is setting up an Innovation Lab in Bangalore, India to provide technical and engineering support to the home grown companies.
In the very recent past, Qualcomm had also hosted the Design in India Challenge in association with NASSCOM to accelerate the creation of a product and hardware design ecosystem in India for healthcare, education, banking, agriculture, automotive, wearables and smartcities.

Over 100,000 Samsung S7 and S7 edge sold in first 2 days in Korea
Samsung started selling the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge smartphones in over 60 countries, including its home-ground Korea starting from March 11th. Korea’s Yonhap News is reporting that Samsung sold more than 100,000 units of Galaxy S7 series of smartphones in South Korea, in first two after the sales started. Gionee W909 dual-screen Android flip phone with Helio P10 to be announced on March 29
Gionne today announced that it will unveil its high-end flip phone on March 29th. This will likely be the W909 that got certified by TENAA in China last month. Geekbench listing from earlier year confirmed 4GB of RAM and Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P10 processor. The phone is said to come with dual 4.2-inch displays, one on the front and the the other on the inside along with a T9 keypad. LG introduces new Stylus 2 with DAB+ for digital radio broadcasting
LG today announced a new Stylus 2 variant as the world’s first smartphone to feature DAB+ for digital radio broadcasting. It has introduced the new smartphone at Radiodays radio conference at Europe 2016 in Paris. LG said that it has collaborated with the International DMB Advancement Group (IDAG) to include DAB+ technology in the new LG Stylus 2. Patchworks, a Korean company, popular for its smartphones accessories today announced its Clear Round case and Color case for the upcoming iPhone SE smartphone, ahead of official announcement of the phone on March 21st. It says that these cases will also fit older iPhone 5 and 5s smartphones, so the dimensions are expected to remain the same. The company says that the image of the device is based on iPhone 5s.
