Google has started rolling out new over-the-air (OTA) update for Pixel devices and also posted factory images as part of monthly Android Security release for October. The latest security update is the first after Android 10 update that was released recently.
Apple has released macOS Catalina 10.15, the next major update to macOS devices, after it was introduced at the WWDC 2019 back in June. Update: After testing it recently, Instagram has started rolling out Dark mode feature in the stable release for both Android and iOS. The company says it will automatically work on iOS 13 and Android 10 once you turn dark mode on your phone. However, if your Android phone supports dark mode (Samsung’s One UI, Xiaomi’s MIUI and others), this will trigger Instagram’s dark mode.

Google announced the Digital Wellbeing feature last year aimed at being responsible with smartphone usage. Digital Wellbeing helps users understand their smartphone usage better, app usage timers help users limit the usage, visuals detailing how many times the phone was unlocked each day and how many notifications were received. The Wind Down feature limits notifications and also gradually turns the display greyscale, to make it easier on the eyes and to encourage you to unplug. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro was amongst best-selling devices last year, Xiaomi launched it running on Android Nougat, and was updated to Android 8.1 (Oreo) in June 2018. The company rolled out Android 9.0 (Pie) update to the smartphone back in May this year, the device is almost 18 months old and has already received two Android updates.
