Samsung announces Galaxy Tab 2 310 – 7 inch tablet running Android 4.0

Bangkok, Thailand – March 18 2012 – Samsung has announced the Galaxy Tab 2 310 which is a 7 inch Android Tablet running on Android 4.0 ICS.It support HSPA+ networks upto 21Mbps on the 3G version and is powered by a 1 GHz Dual Core CPU and sports a 7 inch screen with a resolution of 1024×600 pixels. Nokia Lumia 610 to ship with WiFi hotspot functionality

The most affordable Windows Phone from Nokia will ship with the Wi-Fi hotspot functionality on-board.  The other Windows Phones from Nokia such as the Lumia 710 and 800 do not have this functionality at this time and are expected to arrive as a software update at a later date. The product page for The Lumia 610 lists Internet sharing as one of the features.

The New 3rd Generation 4G iPad already gets unboxed in Vietnam

While March 16th is the actual launch day for the iPad 3 which is known as the new iPad , some lucky folks over at Tinhte.vn in Vietnam have managed to grab one a little early. While there is an unboxing video and tons of pics of the device , it’s barely any different from the iPad 2. I guess we have to use the Retina display in person in order to experience the difference. We can spot an LTE toggle under the settings and also a slightly bigger camera sensor on the rear. Complete Apple iPad 2 Line-Up gets a Price Cut in India

Apple has cut the price of all models of the iPad 2 in India after it announced the new version of the iPad earlier this week in the US.The entry level iPad 2 WiFi model gets the biggest cut of Rs.5000 whereas other models see cuts between Rs.2000 and Rs.4000. We already told you about the price of the 16GB WiFi only iPad 2 dropping to Rs.24500 , now we have confirmation from Apple that the entire iPad 2 line up will see a discount.

Apple iPad 2 Price Drops to Rs.24500 in India

Apple announced the next-gen iPad last night at an event in San Francisco and also reduced the price of the iPad 2 16GB version to $399 in the US. Today morning we heard from Apple India that the price cut is effective in India as well. The 16GB WiFi only version of the iPad 2 is now available for Rs.24500. The 16GB WiFi+3G version now retails for Rs.32900.Apple has not yet declared the Indian pricing for the third generation iPad which packs a Retina display. It will reveal the Indian pricing closer to the launch. Don’t head out to the stores now and expect the new pricing for the new iPad 2 to be effective immediately as it might take a few days for the news to be communicated to the retail network. Couple of Apple Stores we spoke to were selling the iPad 2 at the same old price as of today morning.

 

iOS 5.1 now available for download

Apple announced the new iPad today along with a new Apple TV. Along with these announcements came the news that iOS 5.1 is finally rolling out today to compatible devices. While the update is still not showing up in iTunes , it is available through OTA (Over The Air).  Make sure you back up your device before updating it. One good news for iPhone 4S users is that battery life is reportedly improved with this update. We observed the same in a beta build. Good news for folks in India and in other countries where 3G coverage is spotty is that the 3G toggle is back (we will confirm this in a bit)

Apple has announced the new iPad today with a bunch of new features and surprisingly , the old iPad or the iPad 2 is not going away from the shelves. Apple has announced that the 16GB Wi-Fi version of the iPad 2 will get a $100 price cut starting today and will start selling at $399 instead of the usual $499. The new iPad will start at $499 for the 16GB Wi-Fi version. If you wanted to get an iPad and are willing to spend only about $400 ,  now is a great time to pick one up. But if you are a techie who lives in the cutting edge of technology , save up that extra $100 and get yourself the new iPad. It should be totally worth it. Video : Quick Look at the 41 Mega Pixel Camera on the Nokia 808 Pure View

Here is a quick look at the Nokia 808 PureView’s 41 Megapixel Camera which can take pics upto 38 Megapixels in size. No it is certainly not a typo. Nokia 808 Pure View is the successor to the N8 and features a  41 MP Camera Sensor with Carl Zeiss optics. It also records video in 1080p full HD. It packs a LED flash for Video and a Xenon Flash for still images. An unlisted Youtube video on the Nokia official account hints at a Pure View camera phone for MWC2012. Nokia is hosting a press event on Monday Feb 27 and the date finds a mention in the video. Apple had invited ABC News to show the birth place of Apple products after the company was in the limelight for the wrong reasons regarding working conditions inside the  factories.Apple has ordered an private audit of the facilities after these allegations came up. Samsung says its the No.1 Smartphone brand in India

When I was checking out some news sites ,  I noticed an unusual thank you banner and the Samsung logo and decided to check it out. It took me to a landing page which is a thank you page for Samsung mobile users. Samsung says that it is currently the No.1 Smartphone brand in India according to the promo. It is quoting a GfK nielsen India Retail Store Audit Report for mobile phones in 50,000+population towns in November 2011. Samsung claims to have a market share of 37.9% in Smartphones in that month for that particular segment.
