HMD Global introduced the Nokia 6 smartphone exclusively for China earlier this month. Last week jd.com has started taking pre-orders for the smartphone for today’s sale. In the first flash sale the smartphone sold out in under a minute, according to reports from China. Earlier this week registrations crossed a million, so it is not surprising.

Nintendo released Super Mario Run for iPhone and iPad on December 15th, and the iOS app clocked record 40 million downloads in 4 days of its release. Last month it has started pre-registrations for the Android version on Google Play so you get notified when the game releases. Vivo launched V5, its latest selfie-focused smartphone in the ‘V series’ in India last year with a 20-megapixel front-facing camera. It already teased the V5 Plus, which will launch in India on January 23rd. The smartphone went on pre-order in Malaysia recently, now the smartphone has gone official on Vivo website along with the V5 Lite, a mid-range selfie-focused smartphone. Sony Mobile has sent out invites for its Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 event in Barcelona, which is scheduled for February 27th, the first day of the MWC. The invite just says that “You’re invited to see the latest innovations unveiled at the Sony Press Conference”. The company is not expected to introduce any flagship smartphones, but we can expect some new mid-range Xperia smartphones and some accessories. Xiaomi has finally launched its Redmi Note 4 smartphone in India, as it had promised. It packs a 5.5-inch 1080p screen, similar to the Redmi Note 3, but this is powered by a an Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 SoC, instead of Hexa-Core Snapdragon 650 processor on the Redmi Note 3. It runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with MIUI 8 top, has a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, dual-tone LED flash and phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF) and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Soon after Qualcomm said that the rumored Nokia 8 phone that surfaced last week is just a prototype, details about Nokia P1 has surfaced from Russia. According to a new report, the upcoming top-end Nokia P1 smartphone will be based on Sharp AQUOS Xx3 that was introduced last year and will feature a similar 5.3-inch 1080p IGZO display, however this will come with a Snapdragon 835 SoC and 6GB of RAM instead of Snapdragon 820 SoC and 3GB of RAM on the Sharp phone.
