Huawei Nova 3, the company’s latest smartphone in the Nova series is now official, after rumors and certification. It packs a 6.3-inch FHD+ 19:5:9 aspect ratio curved glass display with a notch, is powered by Kirin 970 SoC with support for GPU Turbo, packs 6GB of RAM and runs Android 8.1 (Oreo) with EMUI 8.2, similar to the Honor Play, but this has a 16-megapixel rear camera AI scene recognition that can detect over 500 scenes and the 24-megapixel secondary rear camera for portrait shots.

Huawei TalkBand B5 with 1.13-inch AMOLED touch display, heart rate sensor, pop-out Bluetooth headset announced [Update: Price]

Huawei has introduced TalkBand B5, successor of TalkBand B3 which was introduced back in 2016. It has a 1.13-inch AMOLED 2.5D curved glass touch screen display, which is 2.4 times bigger than the predecessor. The pop-up Bluetooth headset has trip-core audio chip with high-definition voice, thanks to dual microphone with noise reduction. It has caller ID support, call muting as well as speed dial option to quickly call a person.

Nokia 7 Plus Android P Beta 3 (DP4) now available via OTA, here’s how to get it

HMD Global has finally released Android P  Developer Preview 4 (Beta 3) V3.110 for the Nokia 7 Plus smartphone, weeks after Google pushed the update for its Pixel devices. Nokia X5 with 5.86-inch 19:9 display, dual rear cameras, Android 8.1, Dual 4G VoLTE announced

HMD Global just announced Nokia X5, the company’s latest smartphone in the ‘X series’ in China, as it had promised. It comes with a 5.86-inch HD+ 19:9 aspect ratio 2.5D curved glass display with 84% screen-to-body ratio, is powered by MediaTek Helio P60 12nm  processor with up to 6GB of RAM, runs Android 8.1 (Oreo) OS, which is upgradable to Android P. It features a 13-megapixel rear camera along with a secondary 5-megapixel camera for AI portrait shots. There is also an 8-megapixel camera on the front for AI-powered selfie portraits and beauty mode. Xiaomi Mi Max 3 specs confirmed – 6.9-inch FHD+ display, Snapdragon 636, 6GB RAM, AI dual rear cameras, 5500mAh battery; price hinted

Last week Xiaomi confirmed that it will unveil the Mi Max 3 smartphone in China on July 19th. Yesterday, Xiaomi co-founder and President Bin Lin shared images of the smartphone in Blue Black and Gold colors. Today the company has posted the detailed specifications of the smartphone. All these coincide with earlier rumors. The company also revealed AI features for the camera that can detect 206 scenes, AI voice assistant, AI face unlock and more. OnePlus 6 OxygenOS 5.1.9 update with Google Lens integration, image quality improvements and more starts rolling out

After OxygenOS beta update for the OnePlus 5 and 5T that brought Google Lens support in camera, OnePlus today started rolling out stable OxygenOS 5.1.9 update for the OnePlus 6 that brings the Google Lens support as well as image quality improvements that promises better clarity, dynamic range, edge detection in portrait mode and overall focusing speed and accuracy. The update also brings Selfie Portrait beauty mode, Wi-Fi stability and improvements in Bluetooth connection for cars.

MediaTek Helio A22 2GHz Quad-Core 12nm SoC with Dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5, AI capabilities announced officially

MediaTek Helio A22, the company’s latest budget SoC based on 12nm TSMC FinFET technology was introduced with the Xiaomi Redmi 6A last month, after the Helio P22. Today the company has officially launched the SoC.  It supports 20:9 HD+ screen, has Quad-Core ARM Cortex-A53 CPUs with MediaTek CorePilot, and flexible LPDDR3/LPDDR4x memory controller. It supports 13+8MP dual or 21MP single camera setup.

OnePlus 5 and 5T OxygenOS beta update brings Google Lens support in camera, image quality improvements

OnePlus has released new beta updates (Beta 14 for the OnePlus 5 and Open Beta 12 for OnePlus 5T) for the OnePlus 5 and 5T smartphones that finally brings  support for Google Lens support. It also brings image quality improvements and optimizations to reduce oil painting effect. The smartphones got support for Project Treble in the previous OxygenOS beta update earlier this month. Xiaomi Mi Max 3 with 6.9-inch FHD+ display, 5500mAh battery teased in images ahead of July 19 announcement

Last week Xiaomi confirmed that it will unveil the Mi Max 3 smartphone in China on July 19th. Today Xiaomi co-founder and President Bin Lin has shared images of the smartphone in Blue Black and Gold colors. He said that even though the phone has a large 6.9-inch screen, the phone doesn’t feel big in hand. He also said that the 5500mAh battery will offer long battery life.

Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite Android One smartphone confirmed to be announced alongside Mi A2 on July 24

Last week Xiaomi sent out invites for the global launch of a new smartphone in Spain on July 24th. Yesterday the company started teasing the launch of the successor of Mi A1 smartphone. Today, the company said that it will be launching two smartphones at the event, as expected. The second smartphone that will join the Mi A2 will be the Mi A2 Lite, the global version of the Redmi 6 Pro which was introduced last month, and even passed through the FCC  recently. Samsung introduces world’s first 8Gb LPDDR5 10nm-class DRAM for mobile devices, 8GB LPDDR5 RAM coming soon

Earlier this year Samsung introduced the first 10nm-class 16Gb GDDR6 DRAM as well as 16Gb DDR5 DRAM. Today the company has introduced the first 10-nanometer (nm) class 8-gigabit (Gb) LPDDR5 DRAM as the successor to the 8Gb LPDDR4 DRAM that was introduced back in 2014 and 8GB LPDDR4 RAM mass production started in 2016. Samsung said that LPDDR5 standard will be used in upcoming 5G and Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered mobile applications. HMD Global schedules an event on July 18, Nokia X5 with 5.86-inch 19:9 display, dual rear cameras expected

Update 3 – July 17: After postponing the launch event last week due to issue with the venue, HMD Global today confirmed that the launch of new ‘X series’ smartphone in China will take place tomorrow, July 18th at 2PM (11:30 AM IST). Xiaomi Mi A1 Android 8.1 update resumes with July 2018 Android security patch, SMS issue fix

Xiaomi Mi A1 finally got stable Android 8.1 (Oreo) update for last month, but it was pulled quickly after users started complaining about the SMS bug that wipes entire SMS history after updating. After testing a beta ROM earlier this month, Xiaomi today has started rolling out a new update for the Mi A1 A1 userse to fix the issue.
