Google releases Android P Beta 3 (DP4) with bug fixes and optimizations


Google released Android ‘P’ Beta 2 (DP3) for the Pixel smartphones last month, now it has released Beta 3 (DP4) for the phones. Android P Beta 2 included the final APIs (API level 28) as well as the official SDK, the latest beta  includes the latest bug fixes and optimizations for stability and polish, along with the July 2018 security updates. It also brings iconography refresh, removing the fill from icons across the entire interface.

The latest preview update includes the Beta 3 system images for Pixel devices and the Android Emulator, as well as an update to the Android Studio build tools to include D8 as an independent tool. “Beta 3 is an early release candidate build of Android with near-final system behaviors and the official Android P APIs (API level 28),” said Google. . You can check our latest Android P features here.

If you have already enrolled in the beta program, you will automatically get Android P Beta 2 through over-the-air update. If not, you can download factory and OTA images and flash it manually. Other eligible devices should get the update soon. In the release notes, Google has mentioned known issues related to stability, battery, or performance.

Google already said that Beta 4 (DP5), which is release candidate for final testing will be available by the end Q3, and the final stable release is expected in September.
