Nokia X5 with 5.86-inch 19:9 display, dual rear cameras, Android 8.1, Dual 4G VoLTE announced

HMD Global just announced Nokia X5, the company’s latest smartphone in the ‘X series’ in China, as it had promised. It comes with a 5.86-inch HD+ 19:9 aspect ratio 2.5D curved glass display with 84% screen-to-body ratio, is powered by MediaTek Helio P60 12nm  processor with up to 6GB of RAM, runs Android 8.1 (Oreo) OS, which is upgradable to Android P. It features a 13-megapixel rear camera along with a secondary 5-megapixel camera for AI portrait shots. There is also an 8-megapixel camera on the front for AI-powered selfie portraits and beauty mode. HMD Global schedules an event on July 18, Nokia X5 with 5.86-inch 19:9 display, dual rear cameras expected

Update 3 – July 17: After postponing the launch event last week due to issue with the venue, HMD Global today confirmed that the launch of new ‘X series’ smartphone in China will take place tomorrow, July 18th at 2PM (11:30 AM IST). We already know the specifications and the design of the smartphone. We will know the price tomorrow. Nokia 5.1 Plus / X5 could go official on July 11, Snapdragon 845 and 710-powered phones expected in Q3

Nokia TA-1109 got certified by TENAA last month, which is expected to be introduced as Nokia X5 in China and Nokia 5.1 Plus in other markets. Now a new poster of the smartphone has surfaced in China that confirms the name and design. The phone is said to be introduced on July 11th, which is next Wednesday.

Nokia 5.1 Plus / X5 with 5.86-inch 19:9 display, 6GB RAM, dual rear cameras, Android 8.1 gets certified

HMD Global announced the Nokia 5.1, successor of last year’s Nokia 5 last month. After Bluetooth certification, Nokia smartphone with the model number TA-1109 has been certified by TENAA. This could be released as Nokia X5 in China and Nokia 5.1 Plus in other markets. This reveals a 5.86-inch HD+ 2.5D curved glass display with 19:9 aspect  ratio and a notch, and it will be powered by a 2GHz Octa-Core SoC with up to 6GB of RAM. Feature one dubbed Surprise Me lets you spin your phone on surface and it changes the track to a random one in your playlist.
