Samsung has launched Wireless Power Bank and Wireless Charging Duo Pad in India, expanding its wireless ecosystem. These are Qi certified and allow users to wirelessly charge their Galaxy smartphones and other Qi certified smartphones seamlessly. The Wireless Power Bank and Wireless Charging Duo Pad are also compatible with Samsung’s wearable range such as Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Watch. Lenovo just announced Z6 Lite (Youth Edition) in China, after the Z6 Pro last month. It has a 6.39-inch Full HD+ 19.5:9 aspect ratio LCD screen with 93.07% screen to body ratio, is powered by Snapdragon 710 with up to 6GB of RAM, and comes with triple rear cameras that includes a 16-megapixel main sensor, 8-megapixel telephoto lens with 8x hybrid zoom and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. There is a 16-megapixel camera on the front.
Vivo has announced that it will introduce Z5x, a new smartphone in the Z series in China on May 24th. The company has also shared an image of the phone that shows a punch-hole display, which will likely be LCD since this has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The phone features triple rear cameras that should include an ultra-wide lens.
Xiaomi has reported its earning for the first quarter (Q1 2019) that ended March 31, 2019. It has reported revenue of 43.8 billion yuan (US$ 6.33 billion) for Q1 2019, an increase of 27.2% YoY, among which international revenue grew 34.7% year-on-year to 16.8 billion yuan. Net profit for the quarter was approximately 3.2 billion yuan. Adjusted net profit (Non-IFRS Measure) was 2.1 billion yuan, up 22.4% YoY and 12.3% QoQ. Both the phones feature a 6.26-inch Full HD+ All-View display with 91.7% screen-to-body-ratio, powered by Kirin 980 with Dual NPU and GPU Turbo 3.0. The HONOR 20 Pro also has a Graphene Cooling Sheet technology for 27% better heat dissipation. These feature Side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a 32-megapixel in-screen front camera. Xiaomi just launched the Redmi Note 7S, the company’s latest mid-range smartphone, as it had promised. It is an improved version of the Redmi Note 7 was launched in India back in February. It packs a 48-megapixel rear camera with 1/2″ Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM1 sensor, f/1.8 aperture with four-in-one pixel binning to make an 12MP image with 1.6μm pixel. It has a 5-megapixel secondary camera for portrait shots and also comes with AI features.
Vivo has introduced Y3, the company’s latest mid-range smartphone in the ‘Y Series’ in China. It has similar specifications as the Vivo Y17 that was launched in India last month that includes a 6.35-inch Halo FullView Display with a 19.3:9 aspect ratio and a screen-to-body ratio of 89%, Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P35 12nm SoC with 4GB of RAM, Android Pie with Funtouch OS, Ultra Game Mode, 13-megapixel Main Camera, 8-megapixel 120° Super Wide-Angle Camera, and 2-megapixel Depth Camera, but this has a 16-megapixel front camera.
Xiaomi launched the Redmi 7 smartphone in India last month, and the phone went on sale for the first time starting April 29th through Amazon.in, Mi.com and Mi Home stores starting at Rs. 7999. It was sold every Monday after that, now the phone is available through open sale in the country in less than one month of launch. The Redmi Y3 that was launched alongside is yet to go on open sale, but the Redmi Note 7 went on open sale last month.
