Bharti Airtel has expanded its mobile network coverage along the Amarnath Yatra pilgrimage routes to support pilgrims, security forces, and local administrative authorities.
The company has deployed new network sites at Chandanwari, Pissu Top, and Betaab Valley, establishing connectivity along the Pahalgam route. This infrastructure adds to Airtel’s existing network presence at Baltal, extending coverage across the primary transit pathways leading toward the Amarnath cave shrine.
According to the company, the network deployment was executed in coordination with government authorities and the local administration to strengthen the region’s communication infrastructure for the duration of the annual pilgrimage. The expanded network is intended to provide voice and data services, facilitate emergency communications, and support digital access for the traveling public.
The initiative is part of the operator’s ongoing efforts to deploy telecom infrastructure in logistically challenging terrains and expand digital connectivity across regional corridors.
Regarding this, Vikram RS, COO – Jammu and Kashmir, Bharti Airtel, said:
At Airtel, we remain committed to connecting people, communities, and essential services, even in some of the most challenging terrains. The expansion of our network across both the Pahalgam and Baltal routes for the Amarnath Yatra reflects our continued investment in Jammu & Kashmir and our commitment to ensuring that pilgrims, security personnel, and authorities remain reliably connected throughout this important annual pilgrimage.
