Winknet MF50 3G Pocket Wi-Fi Router Review

Winknet launched the MF50 3G Pocket Wi-Fi Router, earlier this month in India. It is manufactured by ZTE and has HSPA support up to 14.4 Mbps download and 5.76 Mbps upload speeds. It has a LCD display, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n & WPS support that lets you connect up to 10 WiFi-enabled devices and comes with a 1500 mAh battery. Since it was originally launched in July for BSNL with bundled plans, the box has BSNL branding. Tata Docomo launched 3G Wi-Fi Hub last year at a similar price, but it offers download speeds only up to 7.2 Mbps and lets you share the connection only with 5 WiFi-enabled devices. Idea launches 3G Dongle with 2GB free cloud storage for Rs. 1799

Sony to ship Exmor RS CMOS image sensors for Smartphones and Tablets starting from October

Sony announced back-illuminated stacked 8MP and 13MP CMOS image sensors for smartphones and tablets back in January. Now they have announced that they would start shipping these starting from October 2012. The IMX135 type 1/3.06 model with 13.13 effective mega pixels and the IMX134 type 1/4 model with 8.08 effective mega pixels would feature RGBW coding function and HDR (High Dynamic Range) movie function. ARM unveils second generation Mali-T600 GPUs for tablets and smartphones

ARM has announced 3 new GPUs, Mali-T624, Mali-T628 and Mali-T678 in the Mali-T600 series for tablets, smartphones and smart-TVs. These would offer 50% better performance and would include, Adaptive Scalable Texture Compression (ASTC), a texture compression technique and are based on the Mali Midgard architecture. Huawei E355 3G data card launched in India for Rs. 5499

Huawei has launched E355 3G Data Card in India. It is the World’s 1st Data Card with Wi-Fi for 5 at the same time. It functions both as a data card for a single user and as a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot, which can simultaneously connect up to five Wi-Fi-enabled devices. Huawei launched the E303Cs HiLink data Card in July that automatically connects users to the Internet in less than 15 seconds. Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro Preview

At the Mobile Benchmarking Workshop here in San Francisco , Qualcomm showed off it’s next generation Quadcore mobile processor – the Snapdragon S4 Pro (APQ 8064) . And guess what Qualcomm just did not make just a boring announcement about a chipset and that the devices using the chip will be in the market later this year. But , Qualcomm let us use a tablet (prototype obviously ) which uses the new quadcore chip with 4 Krait cores along with the new Adreno 320 GPU. NVIDIA announces support for Miracast wireless display standard for Tegra 3 devices

NVIDIA has announced that they would bring support for Miracast, open wireless display standard that was announced earlier this May. It would let Tegra 3 users to instantly stream content including photos and HDTVs to any Miracast-enabled display. The quad-core Tegra 3 chip would also let you stream intensive games such as ShadowGun THD which is Tegra 3-optimized game on to HDTVs. TRAI issues draft regulations on Quality of Service for mobile data services

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released draft regulations on Standards of Quality of Service for Mobile Data Services Regulations. There is no quality of service standards for the mobile data services compared to wired Internet such as broadband. TRAI has decided to benchmark the quality of service parameters for mobile data services such as 2G, 3G and the 4G LTE services based on BWA (Broadband Wireless Access) spectrum. Vodafone officially announces new 3G data plans

Vodafone has officially announced its new 3G data plans. Vodafone reduced its 3G tariffs for pre-paid customers last month, but the plans were not clear. Later they announced post-paid 3G plans that were applicable only in select circles. These new plans start from Rs. 25 for 25 MB data usage and go up to Rs. 1599 for 12 GB of data usage. Reliance Communications (RCOM) has partnered with BIGFlix, a part of Reliance Group’s digital entertainment business to offer full length movies to Reliance 3G subscribers at Rs. 30 per movie. Samsung has launched TecTiles Programmable NFC Tags that can be customized to launch apps, send text messages, share contact information, change phone settings, send text messages automatically and more, with NFC-enabled Galaxy smartphones. MTS launches MTag 401 Android smartphone with bundled offers for Rs. 8999

MTS has launched MTS MTag 401, their new Android phone with new bundled data and on-net calls. It has 4.0-inch (800×480 pixels) capacitive touch-display with a resolution of 233 PPI and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread).
