LG India announces winners of Smartphone Idea Camp contest


LG Smartphone Idea Camp contest is over and the winners got away with the prize-worth Rs. 1,000,000 along with LG Smart phones as an additional prize of Rs. 500,000. LG launched the Smartphone Idea Camp contest on August 1st which received registrations from 3700 contestants and ended on 15th September, 2012. Nokia DC-16 Portable Battery Review

As smartphones increase in capabilities and screen sizes, the battery technology is struggling to keep up. Non replaceable batteries in phones have made it even harder to be able to just switch out when the phone dies.

This has led to a range of portable battery accessories by manufacturers like Proporta, Nokia amongst others. Nokia added a new member to its battery line up some time back in the form of the DC-16 charging stick and we decided to give it a spin. Here’s our review.

iPhone 5 to Launch in India and Malaysia on Coming October 26?

BGR.in reports that Apple is planning to launch the iPhone 5 in India on October 26th. This isn’t the first time an October 26 launch in Asia has been mentioned. Last month,  The Malay Mail reported that the iPhone 5 would be coming to Malaysia on that date, pending stock availability. There is no concrete word about the pricing yet but multiple sources FoneArena spoke to indicate a pricing of around Rs.48500-52500 approximately for the 16GB iPhone 5. Karbonn A11 Dual SIM smartphone with 4-inch display, Android 4.0 coming soon

Karbonn is all set to launch their next Android Smartphone A11. The phone is listed on online retail site Flipkart. It packs in a 4.0-inch (480 x 800 Pixels) display and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It is powered by a 1 GHz processor and has Dual SIM support. Samsung ATIV S gets priced in UK, Shipping late October


Samsung unveiled the first Windows Phone 8 device, ATIV S at IFA Berlin in August but didn’t reveal the availability or the pricing at that time. Now, UK’s online retailer Clove has announced that it is now availalble for pre-order with them and would ship at the end of this month. The Samsung ATIV S packs in a 4.8 inch HD Super AMOLED display and is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Samsung Galaxy Music and Galaxy Music Duos with Dual Stereo Speakers, Android 4.0 announced

Samsung has announced the Galaxy Music. It has dual stereo speakers at the front for better audio and has advanced audio features such as Sound Alive & SRS. It has a 3-inch (240×320) display and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It is powered by a 850 MHz processor. There is a 3 Megapixel Fixed-focus camera at the back and it has a 3.5mm audio Jack and Built in FM Antenna. It has a dedicated music key to launch the music player easily. MTS launches MTag 353 Android Smartphone for Rs. 5999

MTS has launched their new Android Smartphone MTag 353. It is powered by a 800 MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 Processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), similar to the MTag 351, MTag 352 and MTag 281 that was launched in August. LG E960 images surface, is this the next Nexus?

New images of the LG’s Nexus Smartphone LG-E960 has surfaced online. There are 2 set of pictures, one has a curved design with a rugged back, and other one has a similar design as the LG Optimus G since it has a cover on it. According to these images, both these devices run on Android 4.1.2 with the Linux 3.4 kernel and has the board name Mako. Samsung Galaxy S III Android 4.1 update starts rolling out in Korea

Samsung has started rolling out the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update for the Galaxy S III 3G and LTE versions along with the Galaxy Note in their home ground, Korea. Samsung was the first to offer FroYo and Gingerbread update in Korea, but the Jelly Bean update for the S III started rolling out in Poland and other European countries last month. Nokia Lumia 810 headed to T-Mobile USA

T-Mobile and Nokia just announced the Lumia 810 which will be an exclusive on the network. Featuring a 4.3″ OLED WVGA Clear Black display, 8MP camera with Carl Zeiss optics and exchangeable back covers, the phone is identical to the Lumia 820 in terms of hardware but supports 4G on T-Mobile and has the carrier branding on the top-left.

Rovio today announced the next installment of its Angry Birds franchise, Angry Birds Star Wars. Following a teaser image last week, the famous birds will be dressed up to assume the likeness of characters from the classic saga.
