Panasonic has just sent over press invites for its launch event on 16th May where the company plans to introduce a brand new smartphone in India.

Reports suggest that the company is working on introducing a completely new range of phones that are more suited to the Indian market. Previously reported by BGR and backed by our own sources, it seems Panasonic will be going down the ODM route to outsource the actual manufacturing to a third party. This new model is expected to be replicated in additional and especially emerging markets depending on its success in India. Panasonic hasn’t really cracked the international smartphone market but is quite popular in Japan. India on the other hand will be getting completely new phones that will aim to make its mark in the budget to mid range Android smartphone segment as part of Panasonic’s portfolio.
